As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorganChase within the Commercial & Investment Bank - Markets Technology, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.

Job responsibilities
  • Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
  • Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
  • Develop Python-based automation, tooling, and platform integrations
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines
  • Deploy and support cloud-native applications on AWS and Kubernetes
  • Implement Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform, Ansible, or similar tools
  • Improve platform reliability, observability, scalability, and operational efficiency
  • Integrate trading applications, FIX platforms, and market-facing systems
  • Partner with engineering and trading technology teams to automate and modernize infrastructure
  • Drive DevOps best practices across development and operations teams
  • Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies
  • Adds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect


Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
  • Strong DevOps, Platform Engineering, SRE, Cloud Engineering, or Software Engineering experience
  • Advanced Python programming skills
  • Strong Linux/Unix administration and troubleshooting expertise. Strong Bash/Shell scripting experience
  • Hands-on CI/CD pipeline development (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Bamboo, etc.)
  • AWS cloud experience
  • Kubernetes, Docker, OpenShift, or similar container technologies. Infrastructure-as-Code experience (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible)
  • Strong understanding of networking, distributed systems, and application resiliency
  • Experience supporting highly available production platforms
  • Electronic trading or front-office trading technology experience
  • Working knowledge of FIX Protocol, market connectivity, and order lifecycle workflows
