Full Job Description
Description of Task to be Performed:

AnaVation is seeking a Lead Engineer to provide technical leadership in the planning, investigation, design, implementation, and management of a cloud-based information system, and provide guidance and oversight for our high performing technical team. The ideal candidate will be a multidisciplinary engineer with a software engineering background and a creative "figure it out" personality to help advance the state-of-the-art and ensure high availability of our mission critical system. The position requires understanding of cloud technologies, networking, and security in a government setting. Candidate will interface daily with key government personnel and stakeholders at all levels, ensure taskings are completed, and ensure overall delivery excellence.

This position will eventually be on site with our customer in Huntsville, Alabama. The selected candidate will work remotely until space is ready. Applicants who do not currently reside within commuting distance to Huntsville should describe how they would satisfy this requirement.

This position requires an existing Top Secret clearance and the ability to obtain SCI accesses with a polygraph.

Required Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Computer Science or related field, plus 7 years of relevant experience with software and/or system development in high demand production environment.
  • Understanding of software engineering best practices • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code practices and tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) to support consistent, repeatable, and secure deployment of mission-critical systems
  • Experience supporting and maintaining application codebases deployed across hybrid architectures (cloud and on-prem), with familiarity in network virtualization technologies.
  • Familiarity with cloud solutions in federal environments
  • Experience with Golang, Post Gres, Python, NodeJS, Rust, and/or Java Script.
  • Experience with basic scripting
  • Experience conducting code reviews (G, Kotlin, Java) and test plan reviews
  • Experience designing, implementing, and integrating APIs using modern communication protocols (e.g., REST, gRPC)
  • Experience troubleshooting issues and working with team to resolve
  • Ability to collaborate in system design, requirements analysis, and work product review to ensure sound technical solutions
  • Ability to create plans to ensure that necessary maintenance to support system health is performed regularly.
  • Ability to perform system level design and configuration of products including determination of cloud computer unit, operating system, and other platform specs
  • Understanding of cybersecurity best practices
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to operate successfully onsite with our customer and team in a fast pasted operational environment
  • An existing Top Secret clearance and the ability to obtain SCI accesses with a polygraph


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of VoIP architectures, signaling protocols, and configuration of provider services (e.g., Vonage)
  • Proficiency with Twilio APIs and associated documentation
  • Experience in an agile environment
  • Familiarity with government ATO process
