Job Description

AECOM is seeking a senior professional to serve as a Senior Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Compliance Auditor, EHS Compliance Program Manager. The selected candidate will join AECOM's EHS & Air practice within the Environment Business Line. The role will primarily focus on supporting clients by executing various EHS consulting services and EHS regulatory compliance audits (potentially including process safety management and/or risk management program audits). This position reports to our Atlanta, GA, office, but does not require to be located there.

Responsibilities:
  • Plan, participate, and lead various styles of audit programs.
  • Conduct/lead EHS compliance audits.
  • Conduct/lead process safety management and risk management program audits.
  • Conduct/lead supply chain due diligence/risk audits of various styles.
  • Conduct/lead waste receiving facility audits of various styles.
  • Lead development of permitting and EHS compliance strategies for client project development in various industries.
  • Coordinate for development and management of client EHS compliance programs for construction and operation of facilities in various industries.
  • Coordinate and oversee execution of EHS compliance tasks for clients in various industries.
  • Develop and deliver EHS training to clients in various industries.
  • Provide detailed regulatory interpretation of EHS laws and regulations to our clients and develop compliance strategies.
  • Maintain and communicate knowledge of current and emerging USEPA, OSHA, and state EHS regulatory requirements.
  • Develop effective business presentations and proposals for providing competitive, high-value EHS consulting services.
  • Build and maintain effective client relationships.
  • Grow existing business base through client outreach and professional relationships.
  • Provide mentoring, guidance, and coaching to new or less-experienced staff.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • BA/BS + 8 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and / or education.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience conducting EHS regulatory compliance audit fieldwork.
  • Valid Driver's License and as a condition of employment must be able to pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records review.
  • Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required.
  • EHS compliance auditing experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • Excellent working knowledge of Federal, State, County/Regional, and Local EHS regulations and consensus standards, including, but not limited to:
  • OSHA Compliance - 29 CFR 1910 and 29 CFR 1926.
  • Clean Air Act (CAA) - emission inventories, permitting requirements, RMP, PSD, MACT, NSPS, ODS, GHG, and compliance assessments.
  • Clean Water Act (CWA) - NPDES and Indirect Discharge permitting and compliance.
  • Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) - CWS, NTNCWS permitting and compliance.
  • Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) - waste classification, management, and reporting.
  • Oil Pollution Act (OPA) - SPCC Plans and FRP.
  • Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA) - inventory evaluation, Tier II and Form R reporting.
  • Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA);
  • Federal Insecticide, Fungicide & Rodenticide Act (FIFRA); and,
  • Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA).
  • Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in engineering, physical sciences, safety, or related field.
  • 10 years of EHS experience in a professional services consulting firm, manufacturing, chemical, pharmaceutical, or refining industry.
  • Experience in managing EHS programs, compliance audits, and compliance program evaluations.
  • Experience planning and permitting projects for development/construction.
  • Experience developing/managing EHS compliance programs.
  • Experience delivering EHS training to industrial clients.
  • Professional certification - CPEA, PE, CSP, CIH, or other equivalent certification.
  • Experience with CFATS, DOT, REACH, ISO/RC 14001, and ISO 45001.
  • Experience conducting various styles of audits, including EHS compliance audits, supply chain due diligence audits, waste receiving facility audits, Process Safety Management/Risk Management Program audits, etc.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven leadership and management skills.
  • Proven success in business development for EHS programs.
