Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Lead Quality Engineer to define and execute the quality strategy for an enterprise Angular Component Library and Design System initiative. This individual will lead quality engineering efforts across component development, accessibility compliance, documentation validation, test automation, and release governance. The ideal candidate possesses deep experience in UI testing, test automation, accessibility validation, and enterprise application quality assurance, with a strong understanding of Angular-based applications and reusable component frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
• Define and implement the overall quality assurance strategy for the Component Library program.
• Establish testing standards, quality gates, and release criteria.
• Develop QA governance processes supporting component development and deployment.
• Lead quality planning activities across project workstreams.
• Act as the primary quality advocate for the engagement.
• Design and maintain scalable automated testing frameworks.
• Establish automation standards for reusable Angular components.
• Drive implementation of component-level, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing.
• Define automation coverage goals and quality KPIs.
• Support CI/CD integration for automated testing execution.
• Validate functionality of newly developed reusable components and patterns.
• Ensure component behavior consistency across supported browsers and devices.
• Verify responsive design requirements.
• Conduct regression testing on component releases.
• Validate configuration options and component APIs.
• Lead accessibility testing efforts for all component releases.
• Validate WCAG 2.1 AA compliance requirements.
• Test keyboard navigation, focus management, semantic markup, and screen reader compatibility.
• Document accessibility findings and remediation recommendations.
• Partner with developers and UX teams on accessibility improvements.
• Verify component performance benchmarks.
• Assess rendering efficiency and browser compatibility.
• Support load and performance testing where applicable.
• Identify quality risks that may impact adoption or user experience.
• Lead defect triage activities.
• Prioritize and track quality issues through resolution.
• Provide root cause analysis for recurring defects.
• Ensure timely resolution of critical findings.
• Create testing plans, test cases, and quality reports.
• Maintain component validation documentation.
• Support audit and compliance requirements.
• Produce release-readiness reports and stakeholder updates.
• Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily standups, and retrospectives.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, UX Designers, Developers, and business stakeholders.
• Provide quality estimates and testing outlooks for upcoming releases.
Required Qualifications
• 8+ years of software quality engineering experience.
• 3+ years in a QA Lead or Quality Engineering leadership role.
• Experience testing Angular applications and component-based architectures.
• Experience developing and maintaining automated testing frameworks.
• Strong understanding of test automation, functional testing, regression testing, end-to-end testing, accessibility testing, and performance testing.
• Experience working within Agile delivery teams.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience with Angular, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
• Experience with testing and automation tools such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Jest, Jasmine, or Karma.
• Experience with quality engineering tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, Git, SonarQube, or BrowserStack.
• Experience with accessibility testing tools such as Axe, WAVE, Lighthouse, NVDA, or JAWS.
