Lead Product Technology
Position Summary
This role is a lead contributor responsible for translating customer experience research into actionable insights that inform product strategy, technical enhancements, and business case development.
You will partner across multi-disciplinary teams to design and implement research initiatives, analyze data, and build measurement tools that directly support decision-making for new products, offers, and enhancements to existing customer solutions.
This role connects strategic priorities with operational outcomes by quantifying impact, validating assumptions, and enabling continuous improvement. You will work closely with leadership, product, and technical data teams to ensure customer needs and business objectives are at the core of product technology
decisions.
Key Responsibilities
🔹 Technical Product Leadership (30%)
- Deliver end-to-end research cycle, supporting targeted and episodic studies for Customer Experience initiatives
- Develop business case inputs for new investments, informed by role-driven insights
- Manage insight flows supporting business recommendations, decisions, and product enhancements
- Support delivery of research outputs including results dashboards, formal
reports, or executive share-outs
🔹 Customer Research & Subject Matter Expert (30%)
- Oversee survey-based tools capturing key insights and ensuring accurate understanding of the voice of the customer
- Develop and communicate research findings and analytics outputs to stakeholders at all levels
- Deliver research outputs including results dashboards, formal reports, or executive share-outs
- Assist partners in applying insights to strategy and business cases
🔹 Cross-Functional Leadership (25%)
- Partners deeply across business domains in network, finance, marketing, and channel operations
- Act as an arbiter when differing perspectives arise, escalating when necessary
- Operate independently as a Lead (~65%–75% ownership), with Principals operating at higher independence (85%–95%)
Discretion & Independent Judgment
This role requires significant judgment and autonomy in driving both technical research and strategic outcomes across customer experience initiatives.
Key expectations include:
- Independently determining research priorities and technical approaches aligned to organizational and stakeholder learning goals
- Balancing competing stakeholder needs and business objectives
- Evaluating complex research datasets to define customer-centric target experiences
- Ensuring integrity of research and analytics processes, including methodology and measurement frameworks

Required Experience & Skills
- 2+ years in customer experience research design roles (survey methodologies strongly preferred)
- 2-3+ years telecom, subscription services, or other complex enterprise environments
- Proven ability to frame research outcomes into product strategy recommendations
- Strong communication skills, including presenting to senior leadership and executive audiences
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years hands on experience using cloud-based survey and insight platforms (Qualtrics experience strongly preferred)
- 5+ years in Customer experience (CX) research, including survey design, data interpretation and analytics
- Experience enabling non-research stakeholders to make decisions on research-based insights
- Experience performing analytics to interpret CX or product insights into de-risked recommendations
Our Lead Product Technology, earns between$143,800-$215,800 USD Annual, Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
