Full Job Description
Job Introduction:

This is a builder's role at the center of how cars get sold. As Lead Business Product Manager for Smart Retail, you will own and evolve the digital sales experience, a core part of Tekion's dealer-assisted commerce offering and our Smart Retail Suite. Your center of gravity is the showroom floor, the in-store deal-making experience and the salesperson enablement tools that let a rep structure and present a deal without leaving the customer's side. You'll also shape how that in-store moment connects to the online purchasing experience, so the overall journey feels continuous rather than a series of handoffs. Reporting to the Director of Product for Smart Retail, you will own and evolve the product's Business Requirement Document and roadmap, translating vision into shipped capability. You'll lead discovery, delivery, and continuous-improvement cycles, and you'll be the person who decides what earns a place in the experience, and what doesn't. This is a highly customer-facing, business-oriented product role. You will spend meaningful time in front of dealers and dealer groups, and your credibility with them, earned through real automotive sales and digital retailing acumen, is central to the job. You'll own the business side of the product: shaping go-to-market tracks, driving the business decisions that determine how the product is positioned, packaged, and launched, and partnering closely with the GTM team to make sure the Smart Retail Suite drives measurable value for dealers.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Own and evolve your assigned product within the Smart Retail Suite, from requirements through discovery, delivery, and continuous improvement, with the in-store salesperson and deal-making experience as your primary focus and the online/remote journey as a connected second surface.
  • Serve as a primary, customer-facing product point of contact for dealers and dealer groups, leading working sessions, roadmap reviews, and value conversations, and carrying credibility on the sales floor through real automotive and digital retailing expertise.
  • Own the business side of the product: shape go-to-market tracks and drive the business decisions around positioning, packaging, launch, and adoption that determine whether the product wins in-market.
  • Partner closely with the GTM team, Sales, Product Marketing, and Customer Success, to align product, pricing, and messaging, and to translate dealer value into a compelling commercial story.
  • Lead deep discovery on the showroom floor: spend time with salespeople, sales managers, and F&I managers, observe how deals actually happen, and turn what you learn into clear, prioritized requirements.
  • Translate dealer and consumer needs into well-scoped product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria, balancing individual requests against broader platform strategy and scalability.

Perks & Benefits
  • Competitive compensation and generous stock options
  • 100% employer-paid top-of-the-line medical, dental and vision coverage
  • Great benefits including unlimited PTO, parental leave and free snacks and beverages
  • The opportunity to work with some of the brightest minds from Silicon Valley's most dominant and successful companies
  • Be part of an early stage, hyper-growth start-up with the opportunity to grow and prosper
  • Work on the latest and coolest technologies - everything is home-grown and built ground-up
  • A dynamic work environment with a strong sense of community and collaboration
  • The open and transparent culture that encourages innovation, rewards performance and discourages hierarchy
  • Exciting opportunities for career growth and development
