POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for orchestrating the procurement and supply chain components of New Product Introduction (NPI) launches and leading strategic supply chain initiatives across our multi-plant North America network. A core function of this role is translating product forecasts into actionable supply and order plans to guarantee material availability while mitigating inventory risk. This requires high-level collaboration with Global Procurement, Project Management, and Product Marketing teams. Additionally, this position drives robust category and commercial management for raw material commodities and packaging, spearheading cost efficiency initiatives (CEF), continuous improvement projects, and packaging optimization.
What You Will Do:
New Product Introduction Material Management 50%- Partner with Product and Program Management teams to lead procurement deliverables for New Product Introductions (NPI); take end-to-end ownership of material sourcing, supply chain readiness, and packaging validation.
- Review and analyze volatile production forecasts against highly dynamic actual sales; proactively adjust Material Requirements Planning (MRP) parameters to ensure 100% material availability while mitigating excess and obsolete (E&O) inventory risk.
- Independently navigate and resolve highly complex, multi-functional supply chain scenarios involving cross-border plant management. Synthesize detailed supply chain analysis into clear, high-level summaries for executive review.
- Represent the procurement function at all core launch meetings; generate and maintain critical supply chain readiness dashboards, KPIs, and risk-mitigation reports.
- Act as the primary supply chain liaison bridging gaps between Global Product Marketing, Program Management, Manufacturing Operations, Global Procurement, and Finance to ensure financial and operational alignment.
Commercial Procurement & Category Management (50%)- Develop and execute comprehensive sourcing strategies for assigned raw material and packaging categories by leveraging market intelligence, spend analysis, and total cost of ownership (TCO) models.
- Identify, research, and prioritize high-impact sourcing opportunities through structured internal spend concentration analysis, aligning initiatives with business urgency and regional savings targets.
- Lead full-lifecycle sourcing activities, including Request for Proposal (RFP) development, rigorous commercial analysis, supplier selection recommendations, and comprehensive contract management.
- Prepare, coordinate, and execute complex supplier negotiations; draft, review, and finalize contractual language to institutionalize commercial terms, SLAs, and pricing frameworks.
- Lead regional and plant-specific packaging optimization initiatives-including structural and design updates-to maximize packaging density, reduce freight/material costs, and eliminate transport damage.
What You'll Do:
- Post-Secondary Education in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Materials Management, Engineering, or a related field. An equivalent combination of formal education and extensive relevant experience will be considered.
- 5-7 years of progressive experience in strategic supplier management, commercial procurement, or supply chain roles, preferably within a multi-plant, high volume manufacturing environment.
- Proven track record of executing full-lifecycle strategic sourcing initiatives, including drafting complex RFPs, evaluating commercial proposals, leading negotiations, and managing contract executions.
- Professional designation or active pursuit of supply chain certifications (e.g., CPIM, CSCP) is considered a strong asset.
- High operational proficiency in SAP (or similar Tier-1 ERP systems), with an advanced understanding of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) tools, forecasting, and inventory planning.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
- Proactive self-starter with the capability to operate independently with minimal supervision for extended periods, effectively balancing day-to-day priorities with long-term strategic projects.
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to collaborate across functions, cultures, and organizational levels.
- Exceptional organizational skills and sharp attention to detail, with the agility to manage competing deadlines and adapt to dynamic production schedules.
- Willingness and flexibility to adapt working hours as needed to support regional operations, and the ability to travel to manufacturing plants and supplier sites as required.
Compensation: Canada Target Hiring Range: $88,000.00 - $121,000.00 Per Year
