Position Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Team Lead to oversee our Pre-Litigation Department, which is dedicated to handling individual employment law matters. This role is ideal for a practiced employment attorney who excels at both legal strategy and team leadership, and who has a keen eye for process improvement. You'll be responsible for managing a team of pre-litigation attorneys while driving efficiency and effectiveness across department operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of pre-litigation attorneys working on single-plaintiff employment cases
  • Supervise all stages of the pre-litigation process-from initial intake through resolution or settlement
  • Personally review and accept new matters, evaluating case strength, potential value, and legal strategy
  • Optimize department workflows, case timelines, and tracking systems to support performance goals
  • Draft or oversee demand letters, engage in settlement discussions, and maintain communication with opposing counsel
  • Collaborate with intake, legal support, and operations teams to ensure cases progress smoothly and efficiently
  • Provide mentorship and develop training materials to support the growth of junior attorneys and support staff
  • Partner with firm leadership to implement best practices and support departmental expansion

Ideal Candidate Profile:
  • Minimum of 7 years of employment law experience (plaintiff-side strongly preferred)
  • Demonstrated success in leading legal teams and managing legal operations or workflow systems
  • Solid expertise in employment claims, including wage and hour issues, discrimination, retaliation, and wrongful termination
  • Skilled in negotiation, legal strategy, and client communication
  • A proactive, solutions-driven approach with a passion for refining and scaling high-performing legal teams
