Full Job Description
Work with cross-functional engineering teams to support evaluation of three-phase UPS's from 8kW to 2.5MW, 150kW to 500kWEV DC fast-chargers and Lithium Ion 1MW and larger energy storage systems. Review product requirements and develop detailed test plans and test cases to ensure product features and performance requirements are met. Provide guidance to engineering team members, lab engineers, and technicians. Ensure product safety, performance, functionality, and reliability. Identify product compliance issues before products are built through active participation in product design reviews. Work with global product development teams to align test requirements. Leading evaluation and test of power systems for new product development projects in high-power three-phase UPS's, EV chargers and battery storage. Position is fixed location based in Raleigh office; however, telecommuting from a home office may also be allowed. Up to 25% domestic and international travel for customer site visits, supplier visits, and training.
40 hours/week, 9:00am-5:00pm
Qualifications:
Requires a Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or a directly related field plus five (5) years of experience in engineering lab tests and evaluation of power electronics circuits or systems.
Must have two (2) years of experience in each of the following (experience may be gained concurrently):
3 High frequency power electronics circuits and systems
3 Commercial regulatory requirements, including safety and electromagnetic compliance
3 Working in a lab environment around high voltage including 480V typical mains
3 Planning and oversight of electrical equipment installation
3 Creating test plans, technical reports and presentations
3 Common tools and methods used in high power lab environment, including oscilloscopes, power analyzers and meters
Must have one (1) year of experience in each of the following (experience may be gained concurrently):
3 Programming languages, including C, C#, C++, and Python
3 Simulation and modeling tools, including PLECS and PSPICE
Will accept a Master's degree (or foreign equivalent) plus two (2) years of experience in experience in engineering lab tests and evaluation of power electronics circuits or systems in the alternate in lieu of a Bachelor's degree plus five (5) years of experience.
Experience may be gained before, during, or after the attainment of an advanced degree.
