PHYSICAL DEMANDS Most work is sedentary, but the job does require the ability to move around the office and lift and carry light items such as office files and boxes, books, copier paper, etc. Period of high stress occur during a crisis.
MAJOR DUTIES - Communicates organization's strategic plan, mission, vision, values, and assignments to the team.
- Conducts complex searches of various FBI database systems, other Government systems, public sources, and/or private industry systems to locate data regarding a particular subject/topic and independently analyzes the information to compile a profile of the subject matter.
- Assembles, collates, and processes raw data from a variety of reports, files, and other communications as well as reports, files, commercial databases, interviews, and miscellaneous reference material.
- Prioritizes all incoming communications identifying the appropriate level of response, determining any other critical information and notifying respondents accordingly.
- Performs crisis intervention with emergency callers during high-risk situations.
- Serves as shift lead, mentors and provides guidance to team members.

GS-9: Applicant must possess at least one (1) year of SE equivalent to the GS-8 grade level. SE is defined as follows:
- Evaluated the significance, validity, and reliability of data for inclusion in detailed written reports.
- Analyzed, evaluated, and disseminated information pertaining to crisis situations.
- Communicated orally and in writing with stakeholders to gather pertinent information and provide guidance on crisis situations.
- Collaborated with local, state, or federal law enforcement agencies in order to ensure an appropriate response to crisis situations.
- Facilitated, coached, coordinated and/or directed the work efforts of a team or small group of individuals.

- Limited Movement: Policy has been implemented wherein support employees entering a position may be precluded from moving to another position within the Bureau through reassignment or change to a lower grade for a minimum of 12 months. HRD will waive this limited movement policy for qualified employees, who have received an official notification letter that their current position is being relocated due to an organizational restructuring initiative, so those employees can compete for a position elsewhere. - Relocation expenses will be borne by the selectee, except FBI employees returning from LEGAT assignment. Employees returning from LEGAT assignments must advise the Staffing and Administrative Unit / International Operations Division of their application for this position.
