The SER Masterfile Team is part of the EHR Technology Testing and Master Files Unit and is responsible for the integrity, maintenance, and governance of Epic Provider (SER) records that support clinical, operational, and revenue cycle workflows across Mayo Clinic. The team serves as a critical partner to Human Resources, Credentialing, Provider Enrollment, Education Services, Compliance, Master Data Management (MDM), and numerous Epic application teams to ensure accurate provider data throughout the provider lifecycle.

The Lead IT Application Analyst serves as the operational and technical leader for the SER Masterfile Team, providing day-to-day leadership, strategic direction, and oversight of provider master file processes and related technologies. This role balances people leadership, stakeholder engagement, operational excellence, and technical expertise while helping shape the future state of provider data management. The lead partners closely with team members, application architects, operational stakeholders, and technology leaders to drive data quality improvements, optimize workflows, develop team capabilities, and ensure reliable support of systems and integrations that depend on provider information.

Success in this role requires the ability to build strong relationships across organizational boundaries, lead complex initiatives involving multiple stakeholders, develop and mentor team members, facilitate consensus among diverse groups, and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency through standardization, automation, and governance. The ideal candidate combines strong leadership and communication skills with a passion for delivering high-quality data and services that support patient care, provider onboarding, compliance, scheduling, billing, and other critical healthcare operations.

Serves a lead role in the support of software programs or modules across multiple clinical and/or business functions. Directly oversees the activities of those assigned to the development and maintenance of software-based systems in the supported areas. Understands the business environment and the impact IT has on the business environment. Provides analysis and support for installed systems, as well as system implementation and integration projects, which require systems analysis, design, build, testing and implementation for specific modules or applications.

Functions as a liaison between clinical, business, and technical areas during the planning process and provides oversight throughout the project cycle. Fosters and creates partnerships with the clinical and business area to develop a solid knowledge base of a business work area. Research requests to determine scope, size and impact. Validates requirement information with the stakeholders to ensure completeness. Validates the developed solution to ensure it satisfies the stated requirements.

Maintains in-depth knowledge of existing systems and certification in the vended application. Able to design, develop or modify programs, algorithms or rules using vendor command language or similar technology tool. Assures work of others in this area. Is able to manage mid- to large-sized operational projects independently, and delegates responsibilities and directs team members in these activities. Coordinates implementation efforts and provides assistance in implementing proposals across multiple organizational boundaries.

Monitors industry features and standards in order to provide input to both IT and Mayo Clinic strategy. May serve as liaison for industry partnerships or as a Mayo Clinic representative in national industry events. Develops proposals and business plans that ensure quality IT solutions which adhere to industry and Mayo Clinic architecture.

Creates test plans and evaluates current plans for improvement. Provides training and mentoring to those in business analyst or related roles. Assists managers with input for staffing levels, development of staff, and other operational planning.

May be required to provide 24/7 on-call support.

This is a hybrid position and must be located within 100 miles of a Mayo Clinic campus for occasional on-site expectations based on business needs.

Qualifications

Master's degree with 6 years' experience including 3 years of demonstrated leadership experience OR bachelor's degree with 8 years' experience including 3 years of demonstrated leadership experience OR associate's degree and 10 years' experience including 3 years demonstrated leadership experience. Vendor application certification may be required.
