Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate technicians and assemblers in the production of LRU's and test systems.
  • Ensure production meets schedule and budget targets, focusing on low rate, high mix environments.
  • Analyze and set up production flows for complex electronic LRU's and coordinate their production.
  • Perform testing, troubleshooting, and reworking of PCBA's as needed.
  • Interface with suppliers and vendors to manage supply chain issues and maintain production flow.
  • Conduct assembly and testing tasks as part of production processes.
  • Request quotes from suppliers and create purchase orders to support production needs.

Full Job Description
  • Lead and coordinate technicians/assemblers and work with Management, Program Management, and engineers in the production of LRU's and test systems.
  • Meet schedule and budget targets for production. Typically a low rate, high mix environment.
  • Analyze/ set-up/lay out production flows for complex electronic LRU's and lead/coordinate the production of complex electronic LRU's/systems/sub-systems/test equipment.
  • Tasks will also include testing, trouble shooting and reworking PCBA's.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, vendors, and internal organizations to coordinate and manage issues in the supply chain, inventory, kitting, manufacturing, testing and shipping.
  • This position is on-site at the SwRI San Antonio, TX campus.

  • Lead production, rework, assembly, and test of complex electronic systems/LRU's/ PCBA's.
  • Lead technicians/assemblers through this process.
  • Coordinate with suppliers/vendors and manage parts/components/PCBA's as necessary to keep the factory flow on schedule.
  • Perform assembly and test tasks.
  • Coordinate PCBA component soldering to IPC standards, trouble shoot circuits/PCBA's, and perform test activities.
  • Coordinate with QA.
  • Manage all parts, assemblies, and components for the department.
  • Request quotes from suppliers and create P.O.'s. as needed to support production.
  • Lay out production flows and lead the technicians to meet production schedule and budgets.

  • Requires a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Applied Technology or related Technology degree field . In Lieu of Bachelors degree, 25+ years of related work experience and a high school education or equivalent and continued education/certifications will be considered.
  • Shift work required.
  • 6+ years: Experience in assembly and test of Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBA's). Shown ability to trouble shoot PCBA failures.
  • Soldering experience.
  • Leading others and PCBA production experience. ERP/MRB knowledge. Ability to coordinate with vendors.
  • Experience with lab test equipment (power supplies, DMM, oscilloscopes, etc).
  • A valid/clear driver's license is required.
