Full Job Description
Your Role: Senior Engineer, Quality (Tech Lead)

As the Senior Engineer, Quality (Tech Lead), you will serve as the technical authority for Elanco's Quality platforms and play a critical role in enabling and delivering strategic Quality initiatives. Working closely with Product Management, you will lead the design and implementation of complex platform capabilities that advance Elanco's digital quality vision.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the technical lead for Quality Oversight platforms, partnering with Product Management to collaboratively discover and orchestrate strategic platform enhancements and business initiatives that deliver value and outcomes.
  • Discover and design innovative solutions through rapid prototyping and feedback and demos that reduce fiction and toil for complex QMS and Quality workflows such as Deviation Management, CAPA, Change Control, Quality Events, Controlled Documents, Training, and related Quality processes.
  • Provide mentorship, coaching, and technical leadership and escalation for junior engineers.
  • Own and orchestrate technical validation and release management activities in regulated GxP environments guiding and transforming to CI/CD where possible.


What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years working in a regulated environment, i.e. pharma.
  • Proven ability to deliver complex platform enhancements and business process improvements.
  • Key Skills: hands-on software engineering, integrations, and platform configuration (Workflows, Security Models, Lifecycles).


What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications):

  • Veeva Vault Administrator Certification or equivalent hands-on Vault JDK custom development and configuration experience strongly valued.
  • Experience leading major Quality platform implementations or enhancement initiatives.
  • Custom integrations with variety of enterprise and localized systems from the research lab to the manufacturing floor handling quality events (deviations, CAPAs, change control, etc.)
  • Experience supporting integrations, automation, analytics, AI, or digital transformation initiatives within regulated environments.

Elanco currently anticipates that the base salary for this position could range from $130,000 to $150,000 USD depending partly on the successful candidate's qualifications, including education and experience. Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending partly on company and individual performance). Additionally, Elanco offers a comprehensive benefit program to eligible employees that includes a company-matching 401(k); vacation benefits; eligibility for medical, dental, vision, and prescription drug benefits; flexible benefits (e.g., healthcare and/or dependent day care flexible spending accounts); life insurance and death benefits; certain time off and leave of absence benefits; and well-being benefits (e.g., employee assistance program, fitness benefits, and employee clubs and activities). Of course, the compensation is subject to change and could be higher or lower than the range described above.
