Job Description Summary
The Project Engineering team is part of the Onshore Wind Systems Engineering organization. The Lead Project Engineer will lead the engineering execution of new wind farm and repower projects as the primary liaison and single point of contact between engineering and project management, supply chain, the site team, customers, and subcontractors. The scope includes the fulfillment of all equipment and software deliverables along with the completeness and accuracy of the digital thread up to the commercial operation date.
As the Lead Project Engineer, you are essential to the successful execution of our projects. You will provide technical leadership to the project execution and customer-facing teams, overseeing each phase of the project delivery.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

The Lead Project Engineer will ensure fulfillment of customer orders in compliance with contractual requirements, provide technical project management, technical direction, and drives coordination of engineering activities and critical issue resolution for OTR-related issues for all assigned wind projects. Essential responsibilities:
  • Translating project requirements into product definition and issue bills of materials to supply chain
  • Creating and/or facilitate project specific engineering instructions as well as customer & commissioning documentation
  • Providing timely & accurate responses to customer and field teams technical inquiries for turbine assembly, installation, and commissioning through final customer acceptance of the wind farm
  • Liaise between customers and Engineering regarding balance of plant equipment for the purpose of configuring interfaces, safety protections, and control systems for both the wind turbine and the entire wind farm
  • Facilitate the configuration of control software and parameters based upon the site requirements and specific unit configurations
  • Coordinate, schedule, and thoroughly communicate with allocated resources to complete engineering deliverables


Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, chemistry, mathematics, computer science or related field.
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of engineering and technology experience, including strong demonstration of technical skills and project leadership.
  • Fluent in English
  • Ability and availability to travel 10% of the year

  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, wiring schematics, and 3D models and plus
  • Experience providing technical support to peers, customers and leadership regarding the details of technical issues and project status
  • Effective problem-solving abilities
  • Self-Motivated, Team player, with demonstrated creativity and fulfillment


Relocation Assistance Provided: Yes

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $98,400.00 and $164,000.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
