Lead Electrical Equipment Engineer

What you will enjoy doing*

  • In this role, you will be the lead Electrical Equipment Engineer, responsible for designing electrical systems for modularized Oxygen and Nitrogen plants in the USA
  • You will be working with a range of power system technologies including: metal-clad switchgear, 5kV motors, 5kV fused contactors, transformers, and 480V motor control centers
  • You will be responsible for calculations and studies for electrical power systems using SKM including: load flow, voltage drop, motor starting, short circuit studies, relay coordination, and arc flash studies
  • You will also develop protective relay settings and logic based on the study results above
  • In addition, you will perform vendor drawing reviews, ensuring compliance with the engineering specification and design requirements
  • Furthermore, you will perform technical bid evaluations on all major sources of equipment
  • You will be working in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment, you will partner with teams across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning, gaining full project lifecycle exposure from design through startup
  • Willingness to travel nominally 10%, with occasional travel up to 25% to perform skid checkout and plant electrical system commissioning


What makes you great

  • You have a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with 10+ years of experience in Power Systems
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification preferred, or interest in working towards PE certification
  • Experience with the National Electric Code (NEC), and IEEE standards
  • Comfortable using common engineering tools such as Microsoft Office, and other discipline specific software
  • Experience with SKM, SEL, and/or AutoCAD
  • Experience with Electrical construction under and above ground design packages
  • Experience with electrical construction methodologies and processes, commissioning and energization of electrical systems
