Position SummaryThe
Lead Director, Business Analytics (Medicare Stars Data Intelligence) is a senior leadership role within the Medicare Stars Data Intelligence organization, responsible for advancing enterprise analytics, driving strategic insights, and enabling data-driven decision-making across the business.
This role leads the synthesis of complex, multi-source data into clear, actionable insights to improve Medicare Stars performance and inform executive strategy. The position plays a critical role in aligning analytics with business priorities, strengthening data governance, and accelerating innovation through advanced analytics and emerging capabilities such as AI-enabled insights.
Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Analytics & Leadership- Lead the development and execution of analytics strategies that support Medicare Stars performance and enterprise priorities
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, delivering insights that directly influence strategic decisions
- Translate complex analytical findings into compelling executive-level storytelling
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve performance through advanced analytics and data-driven recommendations
Data Intelligence & Insights Delivery- Oversee the development of reporting, dashboards, and analytical models to track performance and inform decision-making
- Drive the synthesis of structured and unstructured data into meaningful insights that support strategic planning
- Ensure timely delivery of high-quality analytics to support forecasting, trend analysis, and scenario modeling
- Leverage AI agents and advanced tools to enhance the speed and quality of insight generation for executive stakeholders
Cross-Functional Partnership- Partner across Data Science, Product, Operations, and DDAT teams to align data capabilities with business needs
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define data requirements and ensure alignment with enterprise priorities
- Influence cross-functional initiatives by embedding analytics into operational workflows
Data Governance & Quality- Ensure adherence to data governance, compliance, privacy, and security standards
- Establish processes to validate, monitor, and improve data integrity and reliability
- Provide leadership in defining best practices for analytics, reporting, and data usage
Innovation & Capability Advancement- Drive the adoption of advanced analytics techniques, including AI/ML, to enhance business insights
- Identify and implement opportunities to modernize analytics tools, processes, and data capabilities
- Promote a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and data literacy within the organization
QualificationsRequired- Bachelor's degree in Informatics, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Significant experience in analytics, informatics, or data-driven leadership roles
- Proven ability to translate complex data into actionable business insights
- Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing senior stakeholders
- Strong expertise in data analysis, reporting, and visualization tools (e.g., SQL, Tableau, Python)
- Experience in healthcare, Medicare Stars and regulated environments
- Familiarity with CMS Stars measures, forecasting methodologies, and performance frameworks
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., GCP, Azure, Snowflake)
- Exposure to AI/ML and advanced analytics techniques

Pay RangeThe typical pay range for this role is:
$100,000.00 - $231,540.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company's equity award program.
