Lead Deck SME in San Diego, CA with a SECRET clearance, verifiable in DISS.
Position SummaryThe Lead Deck SME serves as the senior advisor for deck seamanship operations, maintenance, and readiness assessments aboard Navy ships and military auxiliaries.
Responsibilities- Assess deck operations and maintenance programs.
- Evaluate anchor, mooring, crane, boat handling, and replenishment systems.
- Conduct readiness inspections and technical reviews.
- Provide recommendations to improve safety and operational effectiveness.
- Support fleet readiness initiatives.
Qualifications- Minimum 15 years supervisory deck operations experience.
- Experience serving as Boatswain or equivalent senior deck leadership position.
- Extensive experience with Navy deck equipment and systems.
- Direct operational and maintenance experience on current Navy systems.
- 25+ years highly desirable.
Occasional travel may be required. Support is primarily based in San Diego, CA, with occasional travel to Navy fleet concentration areas including Everett, WA; Pearl Harbor, HI; Sasebo, Japan; Yokosuka, Japan; and Singapore, as well as other customer locations as required.Salary Range: $90,000-$140,000, commensurate with experience.Compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and market considerations.The position description is only meant to be a representative summary of the major responsibilities and accountabilities performed by the incumbents of this position.
