  • Group Coordination & Oversight: Supervise site installation crews and specialized electrical commissioning groups to manage a seamless transition from construction to live energization.
  • Safety Rules Enforcement: Act as or direct the Senior Authorized Person (SAP) or Authorized Person (AP) to establish strict High Voltage Safety Rules, switching orders, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and Work Permit programs.
  • Testing Program Management: Oversee Level 1 through Level 5 commissioning phases for medium and high-voltage equipment, including transformers, MV/HV switchgear, GIS, and protective relays.
  • Inter-Agency Liaison: Coordinate technical dependencies directly with engineering procurement construction (EPC) firms, local utility companies, and regional regulatory authorities.
  • Relay & Fault Diagnostics: Lead the troubleshooting of grid/substation abnormalities by reviewing COMTRADE files, checking protection secondary injections, and adjusting circuit settings.
  • Documentation Approval: Audit, review, and formally approve complex vendor test plans, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) results.

Qualifications

  • Travel Flexibility: Ability and willingness to travel overseas for international Factory Witness Testing (FWT) deployments, often on short notice.
  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) focused on Power Systems.
  • Experience: 8+ years in utility-scale solar, hyperscale data centers, or heavy industrial MV/HV power substations.
  • Standards Expertise: Complete knowledge of NFPA 70B (Standard for Electrical Equipment Maintenance), NFPA 70E (Electrical Safety in the Workplace), and applicable IEEE power standards.
