Lead Critical Facility Engineer (Data Center) to join the team in
Harwood, ND. Position Summary: The
LeadCritical Facility Engineer trains, mentors and manages daily activities of critical facility engineering teams. The position is responsible for maintaining important mechanical, electrical and control systems in a critical environment facility. Key job activities include delivering timely and quality client service while providing a sustainable approach to data center systems maintenance. The
Lead Critical Facility Engineer demonstrates BGIS values daily in communication with the client and other team members.
Key Duties & Responsibilities: - Client Service Focus
- Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with internal and external clients.
- Provide back up to the Critical Facility Manager as a point of contact for clients and project teams.
- Provide input, develop, maintain account, site, and client reporting as requested.
- Complete client service requests in a timely manner.
- Respond to emergency calls.
- Contribute to the completion of other key initiatives as assigned.
Team Supervision - Prioritize work duties and assign daily tasks to ensure completion of all activities in a timely and quality manner.
- Support the creation, review, and approval of critical environment procedures.
- Monitor and maintain Computerized Maintenance Management System usage and reporting.
- Supervise contractors.
- Ensure adherence to BGIS safety policy and procedures.
Maintain Data Center Systems - Lead and prioritize Critical Facility Engineer daily, weekly, and monthly work order assignments.
- Perform maintenance to ensure the highest level of efficiency without disruption to the business.
- Complete routine maintenance tasks in accordance with BGIS Safety Policy and Procedures.
- Resolve maintenance issues and troubleshoot, evaluate, and recommend system upgrades.
- Inspect buildings, grounds, and equipment for unsafe or malfunctioning conditions.
- Review and maintain equipment data for potential improvements, monitor system data for abnormal trends, and suggest adjustments.
- Order parts and supplies for maintenance and repairs.
- Lead development of new projects.
- Request proposals for outsourced work.
- Monitor vendors and contractors to ensure their work meets BGIS and client standards.
- Accurate and timely completion of work order requests.
- Escalate issues to Critical Environment Facility Manager as needed.
Knowledge & Skills: - High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Three years of experience in similar working environment with HVAC or Electrical knowledge helpful.
- Knowledgeable in either electrical or mechanical work or related facility systems preferred.
- Two years of experience in mission critical infrastructure, including generators, UPS systems, HVAC systems, fire/life safety systems, BMS systems, and CMMS systems.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and coordinate teams.
- Detailed oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills. Ability to respond effectively, verbally in writing to sensitive issues, complex inquiries, or complaints.
- Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and life safety systems typically used in critical environments.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and coordinate teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with client service focus to establish and maintain professional client and vendor relationships.
- Experience writing MOP's and SOP's.
- Time Management focus to prioritize and complete work in a timely basis.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel and Outlook and Adobe Acrobat.
- SharePoint and Power BI experience is a plus.

- Ability and willingness to travel regionally.
- Current valid driver's license and ability to provide personal transportation for meetings and job visits away from the office with reimbursement.
- Physical ability to walk jobsites in uneven terrain.
- Working at heights training/certification preferred.
- Respond to off hour emergency calls.
