About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Data Process Initiative Consultant to lead strategic initiatives focused on improving data quality, strengthening data processes and controls, reducing operational risk, and driving sustainable business outcomes. This role serves as a trusted consultant and problem-solver, partnering with business leaders and stakeholders to identify root causes of complex challenges, develop practical solutions, and implement improvements that enhance operational effectiveness.

The Data Process Initiative Consultant applies structured problem-solving methodologies, including root cause analysis and process optimization techniques, to evaluate current-state processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and drive initiatives from discovery through implementation. Success in this role requires strong analytical capabilities, stakeholder influence, and the ability to build alignment across multiple teams while delivering measurable and sustainable results.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead discovery, assessment, and problem-framing activities to identify business data process, control, and data quality improvement opportunities.
  • Conduct current-state process reviews to evaluate workflows, controls, systems, dependencies, and performance gaps.
  • Facilitate root cause analysis and structured problem-solving efforts to identify underlying drivers of recurring issues and operational inefficiencies.
  • Develop and evaluate recommendations that improve process effectiveness, reduce risk, and support long-term sustainability.
  • Drive cross-functional initiatives from intake through implementation support while managing stakeholder alignment, risks, dependencies, and outcomes.
  • Partner with business leaders, process owners, governance teams, and other stakeholders to influence decisions and gain consensus on improvement opportunities.
  • Measure and validate business outcomes, implementation effectiveness, and the sustainability of solutions while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.


Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Credit Consulting Portfolio experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience leading complex process improvement, business transformation, operational excellence, or continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of structured problem-solving methodologies, root cause analysis, and process optimization techniques.
  • Ability to assess current-state processes, identify risks and gaps, and develop sustainable business solutions.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to leverage data and evidence to support recommendations.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders, build consensus, and drive results across multiple business groups without direct authority.
  • Experience partnering with senior leaders and presenting recommendations, risks, and business outcomes to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a strong focus on execution and measurable results.
