Join a team that designs, develops and integrates highly complex systems within Honeywell. You will be integral in creating system solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers. You will be involved in every aspect of the systems life cycle; from the front end of business development through product end of life.

The Control Systems (CS) Environmental Control Systems (ECS) organization is seeking a Lead Control Systems Integration Engineer to join their team. This position will involve working on a variety of aircraft, including Air Transport, Regional, Business, Urban Air Mobility, and Military aircraft.

Reporting to the ECS Control Systems Integration Senior Manager, the Lead Control Systems Integration Engineer will be responsible for applying technical systems engineering principles to control system definition, design, and integration. The successful candidate will play a key role in the implementation and certification of ECS systems, such as Bleed Air, Air Conditioning, and Vapor Cycle systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • System Requirements definition and validation analysis including architecture, functionality and dynamic performance.
  • Hardware and Software requirements definition and analysis including key characteristics and performance aspects, electrical and data bus interfaces.
  • Development process coordination and handoffs between internal and external stakeholders, communication with chief engineering and technical management.
  • System Integration Test Support including facility architecture and requirements, test plans/procedures, test execution support and results review.
  • Control System Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) Analysis involving issue troubleshooting at the aircraft or system level and definition of robust solutions to identified test problems.
  • Executing and developing control system integration and dynamic analysis standard processes / best practices.
  • Product Line Engineering leadership for the Vapor Cycle System Product line.
  • Mentorship of junior system control engineers.

U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S.

YOU MUST HAVE
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics.
  • 10+ years of aerospace systems, control development or hardware / software experience on vapor cycle systems.

WE VALUE
  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering.
  • Technical excellence and leadership. Proven track record of ability to produce robust technical solutions and achieve milestones on time and within budget.
  • Systems engineering technical process knowledge (requirements validation and decomposition, ARP4754A or equivalent).
  • Technical experience in control system design, including closed-loop control and logic definition.
  • Experience with air and thermal systems, including pressure and flow management, heat transfer, and reverse Brayton cycle.
  • Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering and SysML.
  • Experience with requirement management tools, such as IBM DOORS/ELM.
  • Experience with Matlab Simulink.
  • Familiarity with Agile development of integrated systems (mechanical, electrical, and software).
  • Knowledge of Aerospace standards for Environmental Test (DO-160), Software Development (DO-178C), and Electronic Hardware Development (DO-254).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to an environment with dynamic process and program needs.


The annual base salary range for this position in California is $141 - $177k. This position is incentive eligible. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.
