About the Role

RAM Consulting is seeking an experienced Lead Civil Engineer to join our growing civil engineering team. This role is ideal for a senior professional who enjoys balancing technical leadership, project delivery, client engagement, and team development.

As a Lead Civil Engineer, you will provide engineering expertise and oversight across a variety of municipal infrastructure, transportation, utility, and land development projects. You will act as Engineer of Record, mentor developing engineers, support business growth initiatives, and help guide the continued development of RAM's civil engineering practice.

This position offers the opportunity to work on meaningful infrastructure projects while helping shape the future of a growing and collaborative engineering team.

What You'll Be Working On
  • Leading and mentoring a team of Civil Engineers and Engineers-in-Training to support technical excellence and professional development.
  • Acting as Engineer of Record for municipal infrastructure, transportation, utility, and land development projects.
  • Providing technical leadership and guidance throughout project planning, design, and delivery.
  • Working directly with clients to understand project objectives, requirements, and expectations.
  • Conducting field reviews, site assessments, and engineering evaluations as required.
  • Preparing and reviewing civil engineering designs, technical reports, construction packages, and cost estimates.
  • Supporting proposal development, project pursuits, and business development initiatives.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated infrastructure solutions.
  • Performing technical reviews and signing and sealing Issued for Construction (IFC) design packages.
  • Completing engineering analysis and modelling using industry-standard software such as Civil 3D, HEC-RAS, HY-8, and PCSWMM.


What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with EGBC and/or APEGA.
  • 10+ years of progressive civil engineering experience, ideally focused on infrastructure, transportation, municipal, or utility projects.
  • Experience acting as Engineer of Record and providing technical oversight on complex engineering projects.
  • Strong understanding of civil design principles, project delivery, and construction processes.
  • Experience with stormwater management and drainage design is preferred.
  • Hydraulic modelling experience is considered an asset.
  • Excellent technical writing, report preparation, and documentation skills.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and client relationship management abilities.
  • Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, and project coordination experience.
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams and contribute to a collaborative culture.


Compensation & Benefits

The estimated annual base salary for this position is $105,000 - $115,000 as of the posting date. Actual compensation within this range will be determined based on factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education, and training.

Please note that this range reflects base pay only and does not include the competitive bonus program or the comprehensive benefits package offered by RAM Consulting.
