YOUR IMPACTLead Capacity Engineer will support capacity planning, utilization reporting, and forecasting across our global infrastructure environment. This includes reviewing storage and virtualization consumption, identifying growth trends, building reports, and helping teams plan for future capacity needs. This person will work closely with Storage, Virtualization, Compute, and Operations teams and will report into the Platform as a Service organization.
WHAT THE ROLE OFFERS- Provide capacity and utilization reporting for NetApp and EMC storage platforms
- Review storage growth trends and identify capacity risks
- Use NetApp DII and related storage tools to analyze usage, performance, and forecasting data
- Support capacity reporting for VMware and Hyper-V environments
- Use VMware, Microsoft, and Power BI tools to build dashboards and trend reports
- Provide monthly capacity reporting and recommendations to management
- Work with Storage, Virtualization, Compute, and Operations teams on capacity planning
- Support infrastructure refresh, expansion, and project planning activities
- Maintain capacity documentation, reports, dashboards, and runbooks
- Escalate capacity risks or constraints in a timely manner
- Participate in operational support activities as required
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED- B.S. in Computer Science / Information Systems or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Good familiarity with enterprise infrastructure, storage, virtualization, and reporting concepts
- Direct experience in a dedicated capacity management role is not required, but the candidate must be comfortable working with infrastructure data, trends, and reporting tools
- Familiarity with:
- NetApp ONTAP, AFF/FAS, StorageGRID, and NetApp Data Infrastructure Insights
- EMC / Dell EMC storage platforms such as PowerMax, Unity, VNX, PowerStore, or Isilon
- SAN and NAS concepts including FC, NFS, SMB/CIFS, and iSCSI
- VMware vSphere, vCenter, and VMware Aria Operations
- Microsoft Hyper-V, SCVMM, SCOM, Azure Monitor, Windows Admin Center, PerfMon, and Log Analytics
- Power BI dashboarding, reporting, and visualization
- Capacity forecasting, utilization analysis, and infrastructure trend reporting
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills
- Ability to learn new tools quickly and work with globally distributed technical teams
- Basic understanding of Windows, Linux, networking, and server infrastructure is an asset

Salary Range: $98.080-$147,100; Depending on the candidate's education, experience, skills, geographical location, and alignment with internal equity and external market, actual salary may vary and be higher or lower than the range posted.
