The Impact you will have in this role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Intelligence & Observability Reporting Analyst / Engineer to design, develop, and support enterprise reporting and dashboard solutions across business and operational domains. This role will specialize in BI reporting, Splunk and Grafana dashboard query development, and Snowflake database design/querying to deliver actionable insights, operational visibility, and data-driven decision support.

The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills with hands-on expertise in data modeling, SQL, dashboard development, and monitoring/observability platforms. This individual will work closely with business stakeholders, operations teams, data engineers, and application owners to translate reporting requirements into scalable, high-performing reporting and visualization solutions.

Your Primary Responsibilities:
  • Gather, analyze, and document business and technical reporting requirements from stakeholders.
  • Design, build, and maintain business intelligence reports, dashboards, scorecards, and KPI views.
  • Develop reporting solutions that provide insights into operational performance, business trends, and service health.
  • Translate raw data into meaningful visualizations and metrics for executive, operational, and technical audiences.
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity across reports and dashboards.
  • Support ad hoc analysis and reporting requests from business and technology teams.
  • Develop and optimize Splunk searches, queries, alerts, and dashboards for application, infrastructure, and operational monitoring.
  • Build and maintain Grafana dashboards using multiple data sources to provide real-time visibility into system health, performance, and trends.
  • Partner with SRE, Operations, and Engineering teams to identify critical observability metrics and monitoring needs.
  • Tune dashboard performance and improve query efficiency across Splunk and Grafana environments.
  • Create meaningful visualizations for logs, metrics, and service-level indicators (SLIs/SLOs).
  • Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis through log analytics and observability reporting.
  • Write complex SQL queries in Snowflake to support reporting, data extraction, and analytics use cases.
  • Design and optimize Snowflake data structures, views, and reporting datasets for performance and scalability.
  • Collaborate with data engineering teams on data pipelines, data transformations, and semantic/reporting layers.
  • Perform data validation, reconciliation, and performance tuning for Snowflake queries and reporting workloads.
  • Assist in defining best practices for data access, governance, and reporting standards within Snowflake.
  • Work with business analysts, product owners, engineers, and operations teams to prioritize reporting and dashboard needs.
  • Provide production support for reporting solutions, dashboard issues, and data discrepancies.
  • Document report logic, dashboard definitions, data lineage, and technical specifications.
  • Recommend improvements to reporting architecture, dashboard usability, and data availability.
  • Support audit, compliance, and operational review requests through reliable and traceable reporting outputs.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 6 years of related experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience

Talents Needed for Success:
  • Experience supporting enterprise monitoring, observability, or production operations environments.
  • Familiarity with log analytics, metrics platforms, and operational health reporting.
  • Experience with ETL/ELT workflows and data pipeline concepts.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or Shell for automation and data analysis.
  • Experience with cloud data platforms and modern data architecture.
  • Understanding of data governance, metadata, and data quality controls.


The salary range is indicative for roles at the same level within DTCC across all US locations. Actual salary is determined based on the role, location, individual experience, skills, and other considerations.

Serves as a dedicated technology resource for advancing DTCC's business opportunities and providing industry thought leadership for leveraging new technology. The goal of this new department is to partner internally with IT, our business and regulatory divisions and externally with clients, regulators, and fintech vendors, to help build new platforms and business models to advance DTCC's mission to support the financial markets.
