Job DescriptionAtlantic Health is Seeking a Lead Primary Care APP at Primary Care of LindenResponsible for collaborating with physicians, advance practice providers (APPs), and other medical staff to evaluate, plan, and implement patient assessments and follow-ups. Directly involved in patient care through medical consultation, research, treatments, and education. Recommends appropriate course of treatment through medical diagnosis, working closely with the physicians. Assists and works on initiatives to improve departmental procedures and processes. Leads subordinate APPs and provides direction in day to day activities. Prior leadership experience is preferred. The position requires strong communication skills, clinical confidence, and the ability to work effectively within a team.
Location is Linden, NJ
Principal Accountabilities:1. Obtains medical records, evaluates patients, order tests or scans, diagnoses diseases, prescribes medications and prescriptions, and supervises treatments.
2. Assists patients with chronic disease management and promotes improvement of health and well-being.
3. Guides and provides direction, education, and training to subordinate APPs in the department.
4. Performs medical procedures, such as injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care, and managing infection.
5. Partners with physicians in developing treatment plans and advises physicians on changes in a patient's condition.
6. Acts as a department representative to various hospital committees or events.
7. Performs other related duties as assigned.
QualificationsRequired:
Graduated from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
Active License in the State of New Jersey
Minimum of 3-5 years of family medicine experience preferred
Strong work ethic and a team player who can work independently
Preferred:
1. ACLS certification.
2. Experience working in a large health system or organization.
