  • Perform audit tasks and complete various management-assigned projects.

Summary

Sunoco LP is looking for a Senior Accountant to join the fast growing Midstream Operational Accounting team! Sunoco LP is one of America's largest and most efficient terminalling and storage providers. This individual will perform a variety of accounting functions including, but not limited to:
  • Assist with financial analysis of Sunoco LP midstream terminal locations, including inventory, margin and operating expenses
  • Work with internal and external customers to research accounting variances, disputes and complex transactions
  • Assist with purchase accounting and integration efforts on Sunoco mergers and acquisitions
  • Compiling and preparing of intermediate to high level/technical journal entries to general ledger accounts
  • Assist management with ad hoc projects and process improvements
  • Ensure compliance with SOX controls
  • Apply the financial policies and procedures of the organization and inform management of inconsistencies and problems.
  • Performs audit tasks, as well as various duties and projects assigned by management
  • Serves customers by maintaining our philosophy of going above and beyond, supported by a value proposition that every situation will be handled in a timely manner
  • Represents Company interests with the highest standards of professionalism.

  • Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of related experience.
  • Prior fuel inventory and general ledger accounting experience preferred
  • Strong experience in SAP S/4 FIORI/Winshuttle.
  • Experience working with Right Angle preferred
  • IFRS and US GAAP preferred
  • Strong analytic and data analysis skills required, especially MS Excel.
  • Must display good judgment and be able to work independently, as needed.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Must be flexible, adaptable and have a high level of initiative.

Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:
  • The Accountant/Analyst level requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 2-5 years of relevant job related experience
  • The Senior Accountant/Analyst level requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 5-8 years of relevant job related experience
  • The Lead Accountant/Analyst level requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 8+ years of relevant job related experience

  • Usually, normal office working conditions.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required.
