As a
Laser Production Engineer at Arete, you will be responsible for building, aligning, and documenting AIRTRAC lasers which require building optical assemblies. These assemblies require experience with handling and cleaning optics, mounting these optics with different epoxies, and working with a team of scientists, engineers, and technicians to design, develop, test, and produce lasers. Your duties will include the fine-tuning and alignment of optical components and lasers. You will also contribute to building, testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and modifying developmental and production electronic and optical systems with assistance of the production and engineering team. You will be involved with handling the set up and use of complex optical equipment and conducting optical measurements and testing to support laser alignment, laser fabrication, and laser performance measurements. This position is based in our
Niwot, CO office and is a exempt, non-supervisory, full-time position.

Experiences and Background We Look For (Required Skills):- Familiarity with electronic and optical test equipment such as oscilloscopes, power meters, optical sensors, spectrometers, cameras, lasers, and detectors.
- Ability to produce professional documentation and thoroughly document setups and test results.
- BA/BS in Optical Engineering/Physics or similar relevant discipline and 3 years of related experience.
- Good communication skills.
- Excellent fine motor skills
Nice to have (Preferred Skills):- Strong computer skills.
- Background in optical alignment and/or imaging.
- Detail oriented
- Trouble shooting experience
- Procedure writing experience
The salary range for this role is $80,000 to $105,000; however, Arete considers several factors when extending an offer of employment, including but not limited to: the position and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills
