Position OverviewThe Laboratory Technical Specialist has direct responsibilities for the technical operations of their section at both Wilson Medical Center and Binghamton General Hospital. Oversees and coordinates the daily technical activities of his/her respective section, and when necessary, functions as a technologist. The Technical Specialists is the technical expert of the section and works under the direction of the Core Laboratory Manager, the Administrative Director, and the Medical Director. All duties are performed in a timely manner according to UHS's Laboratory and Departmental Policies and Procedures, New York State Department of Health Regulations, CAP, and CDC Blood and Body Fluids Procedures, and Infection Control Policies. Priority is given to STAT testing and to tests that require immediate processing.

Compensation Range:$37.00 - $55.50 per hour, depending on experience
Education/Experience- Minimum Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Technology or equivalent (Grandfathered NYS Licensed CLT)
- Six (6) years of clinical laboratory experience, three (3) years of experience in specialty area
- Preferred:
- Specialty certification in specialty area
License/Certification- Minimum Required:
- NYS Licensed Clinical Laboratory Technologist
- Preferred:
- ASCP Specialty Certification
