Full Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
ONEOK is seeking a Laboratory Technician to support product quality monitoring, process testing, and various laboratory operations at the Bridgeport Plant. This role is responsible for analyzing and tracking gas and liquid (NGL) samples to help ensure compliance with product specifications and safe, efficient plant operations. The Laboratory Technician will perform tests such as composition, sulfur, chromatographic analyses, amine testing, and other functions as necessary; while also maintaining, repairing, and monitoring calibrations of laboratory equipment.

This is a hands-on, on-site role that requires someone who enjoys active, detail-oriented work and is comfortable spending much of the day on their feet. Ideal candidates would be self-motivated, with a strong work ethic, mechanical aptitude, and ambitious to learn new protocols and procedures. Candidates with experience following written procedures, writing protocols, documenting results, or supporting technical operations are encouraged to apply.

This position will work closely with other lab employees on-site, and will be part of a collaborative team environment where communication is key to maintaining efficient operations. Adaptability, teamwork, and a positive culture fit are important to long-term success in this role. This position is based on-site at the Bridgeport Plant with a Monday-Friday work schedule, generally 8 hours daily.

Job Profile Summary

Collects and analyzes process water and product samples, ensuring compliance with product specifications.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Collect and analyze product samples to ensure quality, performing tests including but not limited to:
    • Vapor pressure
    • Specific gravity
    • Corrosion
    • Sulfur
    • Composition
    • Moisture content
  • Perform and interpret plant operational tests including but not limited to the following:
    • Lean oil testing
    • Chromatographic analyses of gas and liquid steams
    • Dew points
    • Amine
  • Perform maintenance, repair, and calibration on laboratory and process equipment and tools. Ensure proper supplies and equipment are available
  • Compile, verify, and/or prepare information, reports, and/or correspondence including but not limited to:
    • Test data results
    • Recommendations
    • Testing schedules
    • Testing procedures
    • Letters and memos
  • Responsible for sample collection cylinders which included but is not limited to ensuring proper maintenance as well as compliance with applicable regulations


Education

  • None Required.


Work Experience

  • Experience collecting samples and conducting various tests related to gas processing.
  • Experience in the use, maintenance, and repair of tools and equipment applicable to position including but not limited to:
    • Chromatograph
    • PH meter
    • Centrifuge
    • Vapor pressure and distillation equipment
  • Experience reading, interpreting, and/or preparing written information including but not limited to:
    • Test data results and recommendations
    • Testing methods and procedures
    • Interpretation of process flow diagrams (PFD's) and process instrument diagrams (PID's)
    • Gas Processing Association (GPA) Analytical Data
    • Industry Standards


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of: gas processing and/or natural gas liquids and applicable testing, analyses, and regulations
  • Knowledge of: safety practices related to high pressure products and hazardous materials
  • Knowledge of: word processing and spreadsheet software such as Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
  • Ability to: apply addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals, percentages, and algebraic formulas
  • Ability to: communicate and/or exchange information and instructions; conduct oral presentations and/or meetings
  • Ability to: operate tools and equipment required.


Licenses and Certifications

  • State certified Lab Technician may be required depending on the location of the facility
