The Department of Medicine, Division of Nephrology is seeking an experienced Lab Manager to support innovative translational and laboratory research within the Transplantation Program. Working closely with the Director of Transplantation, the incumbent will coordinate research activities, manage critical laboratory resources, and perform advanced molecular and cellular biology techniques to support ongoing research initiatives.

The Staff Research Associate III will oversee laboratory operations, including tissue and cell line repositories, perform molecular biology and tissue culture techniques, and contribute to high-throughput sequencing studies and data analysis. The incumbent will also collaborate with investigators to develop experimental approaches, interpret scientific findings, mentor students and laboratory staff, and contribute to the design and execution of cutting-edge research projects.

Annual range: $71,845.41-$115,537.00

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in biology, cell biology, neuroscience or related field.
  • 3-5 years' experience using basic laboratory equipment (centrifuges, CO2 incubators, spectrophotometer, PCR and qPCR machines, pH meter, balances, plate reader, light and fluorescence microscope, gel documentation).
  • 3-5 years' experience in similar previous research studies
  • Skills in using computer with Microsoft Suite (Excel, Powerpoint), Google Docs, PhotoShop, and database management systems.
  • Strong ability to communicate well, work both independently and in a team environment, organized, and must be able to keep detailed notebook
  • Demonstrated skill in problem solving, prioritizing assignments to complete work in a timely and efficient manner, and maintaining confidentiality of data and using discretion and judgement in responding to inquiries and releasing information
  • Experience using basic laboratory equipment (centrifuges, PCR machines, pH meter, balances and microscopes).
  • Skills in isolation of biological materials (DNA, RNA, and Protein) from precious human tissues and cell lines, as well as cataloging and management of resources using relational computer database
