Key Account Distribution Leader - Grainger (Mid-Atlantic)

The Impact You'll Make in this Role

As the Key Account Distribution Leader - Grainger (Mid-Atlantic) you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Regional Business Acceleration: Develop and execute a localized geographic growth strategy to expand 3M's footprint within Grainger's Mid-Atlantic and East Coast sales organizations. Identify regional high-growth corridors and tailor campaigns to local market demands.
  • Proactive Field Engagement: Lead "accelerated engagement" initiatives directly with Grainger's East Coast regional, district, and account-level sales teams. Act as the co-selling partner to secure large-scale industrial, safety, and commercial end-user contracts.
  • Program Deployment & Field Execution: Take national 3M-Grainger sales programs, promotional campaigns, and new product introductions (NPI) and drive their execution at the regional level. Own the lifecycle of regional initiatives-executing the strategic supplier growth program investments
  • Cross-Functional & Divisional Alignment: Serve as the local "central nervous system" connecting 3M's diverse divisions (including Personal Safety/PSD, Abrasives, and Industrial Adhesives & Tapes/IATD) with Grainger's East Coast field sales, specialists, and key regional stakeholders.
  • Localized Market Intelligence: Utilize regional business intelligence and POS data to uncover geographical white-space opportunities, track competitor movement within East Coast accounts, and swiftly adapt field strategies to shifting distribution dynamics.


Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
  • Five (5) years of progressive experience in Regional Key Account Management, Industrial Distribution, or Sales Leadership
    in a private, public, government or military environment
  • One (1) year of experience in Project Management frameworks in a private, public, government or military environment


Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
  • Proven track record of managing and growing major industrial distributors, with direct experience collaborating with W.W. Grainger's regional sales networks being highly desirable.
  • Experience managing accounts across the Mid-Atlantic and East Coast industrial markets.


Work Location: Remote- (Mid-Atlantic) Region

Travel: May include up to 30% domestic
