About the roleThe Huntington Beach team is part of Coke Marketing - a global specialty products business with customers and clients on multiple continents. Coke Technical team supports Coke Marketing and all bp coke operations (Cherry Point, Whiting, Castellon, Lingen) and includes tolling/commercial agreements in Germany, Egypt and Oman.
The primary areas for Coke Technical are Quality Assurance oversight, new product development, customer support, marketing support, product reputation protection, research studies, and technical advice and training. Within the Coke Technical team a Junior Technician provides coke focused laboratory testing, data generation, and data interpretation in support of BP’s Coke Marketing activities. The role encompasses both routine and project orientated testing, ensuring integrity of data generated, and report generation. All while maintaining a safe and clean working environment
Key ResponsibilitiesWork with fellow Coke Technical team members to:
Essential Education, experience and requirements:- .Bachelor’s degree in the physical sciences or equivalent work experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of laboratory analytical techniques and equipment maintenance.
- Demonstrated knowledge of laboratory quality control (QC) techniques.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to gain respect of peers and work in a team to accomplish goals.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Experience using spreadsheet, word processing, and presentation software (MS Office Suite)
- Strong problem solving and analytical thinking skills
Desired Experience- Ability to communicate technical issues to internal and external customers.
- Previous experience with coke test methods and properties
- Capability to use a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
- Valid driver’s license with excellent driving record
- Comfortable with video conferencing and remote collaboration
How much do we pay (Base)? 85,000 - 100,000 USD Annually- Note that the base pay range listed for this position is a good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible base compensation at the time of posting.
