Hatch is seeking a dynamic Junior Rail Systems Engineer - Communications. Reporting to the Infrastructure group, you will support offices globally working from our Washington DC office location.

Hatch will not provide sponsorship for employment visas or participate in STEM OPT for this position.

Qualifications:
  • Roles at this level are filled by recent or soon to be university/college graduates with little or no professional experience but possessing relevant skills
  • Preferred bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering or a relevant field
  • Minimum of a cumulative 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale


As the successful candidate, you will:
  • Work with an elite group of rail systems design professionals focusing on North American projects, with opportunities in both heavy rail and transit markets
  • Participate in communications systems design, testing, and commissioning activities on various transportation projects, including CCTV, communications-based train control, SCADA, passenger infotainment systems, and command and control centers
  • Collaborate with team members locally and globally to accomplish project objectives


You bring to the role:
  • Strong academic record
  • Experience involving networks, radio communications, electronics, testing and multi-discipline integration
  • Excellent analytical, written, and oral communication skills
  • Familiarity and interest in technical writing
  • The following skills/experience are a plus:
    • EIT certificate
    • Experience in the rail transit industry
    • Highly developed analytical skills and hands-on experience
    • Field testing

  • Coordination with other technicians/engineers on projects
  • Provide support to Senior Engineers and Designers as and when needed

Compensation:

Range: $88,000 - $94,000

At Hatch, we are committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. In accordance with legislated pay transparency requirements, the expected salary range for this position is based on current market data and aligned with internal pay structures to ensure consistency and fairness.

Your individual compensation within this range will depend on factors such as skills, experience, qualifications and location.
