Overview

Zachary Piper is seeking a Manager of Technical Solutions responsible for leading the development and implementation of modern digital platforms aligned with business strategy. This role oversees engineering and QA functions, drives technical execution, and ensures coordinated delivery across multiple platforms while reducing technical debt. The position collaborates across agile teams to deliver scalable, maintainable, and future-ready systems and technologies.

Responsibilities

Digital Platform Leadership
  • Lead development and implementation of digital platforms using microservices, cloud technologies, AI/ML, and DevOps practices.
  • Ensure platforms are scalable, secure, high-performing, and aligned with business needs.

Scrum & Agile Delivery
  • Guide and support scrum teams to deliver high-quality, architecturally sound solutions.
  • Facilitate agile processes, ensure adherence to sprint goals, and promote continuous improvement.

Engineering Excellence
  • Maintain unified engineering and architectural standards across projects.
  • Oversee best practices in software development to ensure performance, stability, scalability, and reduced risk.

Technical Execution
  • Lead design reviews, enforce code quality standards, and guide technical decision-making across the technology stack.

Team Leadership & Development
  • Build, mentor, and retain a high-performing team of engineers, QA analysts, and technical professionals.
  • Cultivate a growth mindset and ensure continuous skill development.

Continuous Improvement & Innovation
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, platforms, and delivery efficiency.
  • Support innovation initiatives, proofs of concept, and evaluation of emerging technologies.

Cross-functional Collaboration
  • Work with product managers, stakeholders, and other scrum teams to align technology delivery with business priorities.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity, infrastructure, PMO, and other IT teams to ensure cohesive and standardized implementations.

Technical Debt Management
  • Implement strategies to track, mitigate, and prevent technical debt across systems and platforms.

Emerging Technology Adoption
  • Evaluate new tools, platforms, and technologies-especially in AI, machine learning, cloud, and automation-to strengthen digital capabilities.

Education
  • Bachelor's degree required (or equivalent experience).
  • Master's degree preferred.

Experience
  • 5+ years leading complex technology initiatives involving digital transformation and platform development.
  • Experience with cloud technologies, AI/ML, and microservices.
  • 2+ years of people management experience preferred.
  • Proven success in engineering leadership, agile delivery, and aligning technology strategy with business goals.

Skills
  • Strong understanding of SDLC and full lifecycle delivery from ideation to production.
  • Proficiency in microservices architecture, cloud platforms, AI/ML, and DevOps practices.
  • Expertise in Agile/Lean methodologies and continuous deployment.
  • Strong risk management and technical governance capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to translate technical concepts to varied audiences.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, with a focus on innovation and team development.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage shifting priorities.

Role Details
  • Reports to: AVP, Digital Technologies & Platforms
  • Team size: ~10 (Architects, Senior Engineers, Engineers)
  • Compensation range: $125,000-$160,000 annually
