Job Summary:

This position is responsible for implementing and managing the agency's Equal Opportunity/ Non-Discrimination program. This program is mandated by federal and state regulations.

The role includes providing guidance and training on program requirements to ensure adherence and compliance. This role is also responsible for overseeing the Equal Opportunity fact-finding investigative process and conducting fact-finding investigations concerning allegations related to Title VII (non-discrimination) complaints for the agency.

This position collaborates with other HR managers and team members on employee matters that overlap into the Family Medical Leave Act, Paid Parental Leave, the Americans Disability Act, and Employee Relations matters. This position makes site visits and tours throughout the year.

This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Job Duties:

Oversight and monitoring of the agency's compliance with federal and state non discrimination regulations, rules, and policies. Conduct, review and write, fact-finding reports, and provide technical assistance to internal stakeholders regarding non-discrimination.

Conducts assessments for employee non-discrimination complaints, prepares reports, documents, and resolves employee & management concerns.Maintains statistics, logs, and general record keeping.

Develops and conducts virtual and in-person training of the non-discrimination program. Attends, presents, and represents the non-discrimination at leadership meetings, presentations, and training events. This position prepares Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) position statements and completes the yearly EEOC report.

Selective Preference(s):

Experience in equal employment opportunity (non-discrimination), compliance, state and federal laws, and other employment laws.

Bachelor's Degree in public administration or HR related fields is preferred, or 3-5 years of experience with non-discrimination, supervising employees and directing work of a team.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

This position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job, and the following requirements apply. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver's license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver's license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver's license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11).

All newly hired State employees are subject to and must successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify).
