Java Developer

DEPARTMENT: Software

REPORTS TO: Director Of Software

FLSA: Full-Time, Exempt/Non-Exempt (Salary)

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm (Hybrid)

Position Summary

Candidate will become part of an IT team that handles all aspects of software development including planning, implementation, test, deployment, and maintenance. The ideal candidate will have several years of experience with application and database design in a Java EE environment. You will work with other Java developers in designing and implementing new features and support for new devices in our in house developed software solutions. Candidate will be required to develop and maintain a high level of knowledge of the hardware devices which interface with our software.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with development team to design solutions to achieve corporate goals using Java and related technologies.
  • Partner with other departments to gather requirements and create and document proposed designs to solve the specified projects goals.
  • Coordinate with other IT staff to help determine sources of degraded performance in applications, propose and implement solutions to improve.
  • Conduct application security auditions with other IT staff and propose and implement solutions to close any holes.
  • Create and maintain documentation of in house developed Java and Web applications, deployment processes.
  • Respond to requests from SQL DBA regarding application tuning and application access to the SQL servers.
  • Perform troubleshooting to isolate, diagnose, and remedy common network, application, and operating system problems involving the applications and supporting servers.
  • Work independently on assigned projects with little guidance when necessary.
  • Any other duties assigned by the manager.


Qualifications

  • Minimum of four (4) years of professional software development experience required.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline is preferred; however, equivalent relevant experience may substitute for formal education.
  • Experience with J2EE application servers, and EJBs required.
  • Experience with an ORM (Hibernate, JPA, Eclipselink, etc) required.
  • SQL server database knowledge required.
  • Experience using Java Swing preferred.
  • HubSpot experience preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of Networking, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, IIS, FTP, Firewalls preferred.
  • Demonstrable experience using Ai for development preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to read and write clear and understandable instructions.
  • Candidates must be able to work varying hours and travel when required (less than 5%).
  • Must demonstrate excellent organization, prioritization, follow up and time management skills.
  • Must have strong analytical and problem solving skills within a technical environment.
