Job Summary
The Java Developer will support software development across the mid-to-front-end stack, with a focus on Java development, Linux/Unix environments, software integration, testing, troubleshooting, and refactoring. The role requires strong Java and multithreading experience and the ability to work across software systems while supporting development throughout the application lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain Java-based software applications, including multithreaded applications.
• Develop, integrate, test, troubleshoot, and refactor software systems.
• Work within Linux/Unix environments for software development, integration, and troubleshooting.
• Support database, messaging, user interface, and application integration components as required.
• Troubleshoot software performance and system issues and contribute to performance optimization.
• Collaborate with development teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Apply Agile development practices across full-lifecycle software development activities.
Required Qualifications
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance as a condition of employment.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related STEM discipline.
• 2+ years of relevant software development experience.
• Strong Linux/Unix development, integration, and troubleshooting experience.
• Proven Java development experience, including multithreading.
• Ability to integrate, test, troubleshoot, and refactor software systems.
Preferred Qualifications
• Advanced Java multithreading experience.
• Experience with MongoDB, PostgreSQL, or comparable databases.
• Experience with inter-process messaging middleware such as gRPC or Artemis.
• Experience with UI frameworks such as JavaFX or Swing.
• Experience with reactive programming technologies such as RxJava, Kotlin Coroutines, or Flow.
• Experience with performance-tuning tools such as JVisualVM, JConsole, or JProfiler.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with Agile full-lifecycle development.
• Proficiency with Bash scripting.
• 3+ years of combined experience in Linux, scripting/software development, and configuration management.
