Qualifications

• 15 years of Java experience required.
• 10 years of SQL database experience required.
• 8 years of experience in sustaining and developing large applications in a team setting required.
• 5 years of Linux experience preferred.
• 8 years of familiarity with Atlassian tools, especially JIRA preferred.
• Experience with Agile methodology is preferred.
• 2 years of experience with State of Texas applications, particularly in the Texas Department of Public Safety environment preferred.
• 2 years of experience transitioning applications from legacy mainframe to Java/SQL environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee coding, testing, and debugging of software as per technical specifications.
• Lead development of flowcharts and preparation of user instructions.
• Coordinate research and analysis for project proposals and software modifications.
• Evaluate computer applications and analyze database schemas, including writing SQL code.
• Troubleshoot application issues by analyzing logs and system performance.
• Prepare detailed design analyses and verification procedures for new applications.
• Track and assign work for programming projects and ensure team coordination.
