Job Summary
The Java Backend Engineer will design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications and cloud-based solutions using Java, Spring, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices architecture. The role requires extensive hands-on experience with Java development, public cloud technologies with a preference for Microsoft Azure, and enterprise integration. The engineer will contribute to building highly resilient cloud applications while collaborating on CI/CD, testing, messaging, database, and SRE practices. This is an onsite/hybrid position.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications using Java and Spring-based frameworks.
• Build and consume REST APIs and develop microservices-based integrations.
• Design and implement applications using microservices architecture.
• Develop and support cloud-based applications and technologies, with a focus on Microsoft Azure.
• Integrate applications with messaging technologies such as RabbitMQ, Kafka, or Azure Service Bus.
• Develop applications that interact with enterprise databases such as Oracle and PostgreSQL.
• Participate in CI/CD processes and support automated software delivery using tools such as Jenkins.
• Apply software testing approaches and tools throughout the application development lifecycle.
• Contribute to Chaos Testing and SRE practices to improve application resilience and reliability.
• Collaborate with technical teams to troubleshoot, enhance, and maintain highly scalable and resilient cloud-based applications.
Required Qualifications
• 10+ years of demonstrable experience in full-stack Java programming and building scalable web applications.
• 6+ years of experience with Java Spring-based frameworks and libraries, preferably Spring Boot.
• 5+ years of experience working with public cloud and cloud-based technologies, with Microsoft Azure preferred.
• 6+ years of experience building and consuming REST API-based integrations and microservices architectures.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technology-related field such as Computer Science or Engineering.
Preferred Qualifications
• Hands-on experience with messaging technologies such as RabbitMQ, Kafka, or Service Bus.
• Experience building applications using databases such as Oracle and PostgreSQL.
• Solid understanding and experience with CI/CD processes and tools such as Jenkins.
• Experience with software application testing approaches and tools such as JUnit, Cucumber, and Selenium.
• Experience with Chaos Testing and other SRE practices for developing highly resilient cloud-based applications.
• Experience designing and developing applications using microservices architecture.
