Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Java Android Developer to design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality Android mobile applications. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Java, Android SDK, Android Studio, RESTful APIs, and mobile application architecture.
The Java Android Developer will collaborate with product managers, UI/UX designers, backend developers, QA engineers, and other technical teams to develop scalable, secure, and user-friendly Android applications.
Key Responsibilities - Design, develop, test, and maintain Android applications primarily using Java.
- Develop reusable, scalable, and maintainable application components.
- Work extensively with Android SDK, Android Studio, and related Android development tools.
- Integrate Android applications with RESTful APIs and backend services.
- Implement application features based on business and functional requirements.
- Work with Android components such as Activities, Fragments, Services, Broadcast Receivers, and Content Providers.
- Implement responsive user interfaces using XML layouts and Material Design principles.
- Manage local application data using SQLite and Room Database.
- Handle JSON data parsing and communication between mobile applications and backend services.
- Implement asynchronous operations, background processing, and network communication.
- Apply appropriate Android application architecture patterns such as MVC, MVP, or MVVM.
- Debug and troubleshoot application defects, crashes, memory issues, and performance problems.
- Optimize applications for performance, responsiveness, reliability, and battery efficiency.
- Write clean, efficient, maintainable, and well-documented Java code.
- Perform unit testing and participate in application integration testing.
- Collaborate with QA engineers to identify, reproduce, and resolve application defects.
- Use Git or similar version-control systems for source-code management.
- Participate in code reviews and follow established software-development best practices.
- Support CI/CD processes for Android application builds and deployments.
- Prepare and maintain applications for release through the Google Play Store.
- Monitor production applications and resolve technical issues as required.
- Stay current with Android platform updates, development standards, and mobile technology trends.
Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of professional Android application development experience.
- Strong programming experience with Java.
- Strong knowledge of Android SDK and Android application development.
- Hands-on experience with Android Studio.
- Strong understanding of Android application lifecycle and Android components.
- Experience integrating RESTful APIs and web services.
- Experience working with JSON and API-based data communication.
- Knowledge of SQLite and/or Room Database.
- Experience implementing Android UI using XML layouts.
- Understanding of Material Design guidelines and responsive mobile interfaces.
- Experience with application architecture patterns such as MVC, MVP, or MVVM.
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with Git and version-control workflows.
- Understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP), data structures, and software-design principles.
Preferred Qualifications - Experience with Kotlin in addition to Java.
- Knowledge of Jetpack components such as ViewModel, LiveData, Navigation, and WorkManager.
- Experience with Retrofit or similar REST API libraries.
- Experience with dependency-injection frameworks such as Dagger or Hilt.
- Familiarity with Firebase services, including Crashlytics, Analytics, and Cloud Messaging.
- Experience with push notifications and Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM).
- Familiarity with Gradle build configuration and dependency management.
- Experience with JUnit, Espresso, or other Android testing frameworks.
- Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar platforms.
- Experience deploying and maintaining applications through the Google Play Console.
- Understanding of mobile application security best practices.
