The Opportunity

As an IT Vendor Manager, Engineering Applications, you will play a key role in shaping and managing WSP's portfolio of engineering application vendors that support project delivery and digital engineering teams across Canada. You will drive strategic value, strengthen vendor partnerships, and ensure the tools our teams rely on enable exceptional outcomes across regions and disciplines.

Your Impact
  • Shape and execute WSP's vendor strategy for Engineering Applications, acting as a trusted advisor on vendor assessments, costs, contracts, renewals, standardization opportunities, and roadmap alignment across regions and disciplines, while supporting M&A activities through contract integration and optimization.
  • Build, govern, and mature strategic vendor relationships, including vendor classification, establishment of governance models, executive-level engagements (QBRs and annual reviews), and partnerships that directly support digital engineering initiatives and front-line project delivery.
  • Lead end-to-end contract management and vendor governance, collaborating with Procurement and IT teams on lifecycle planning, renewals, compliance, performance management, dispute resolution, risk management, and continuous improvement across service delivery and technology utilization.
  • Optimize commercial outcomes and cost efficiency, performing consumption, total cost of ownership, scenario modeling, and cost-benefit analyses to support negotiations, global contract decisions, and vendor portfolio rationalization.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between IT, Procurement, and Engineering communities, acting as the internal reference point for vendor contracts, SOWs, amendments, and communications, while guiding stakeholders through vendor engagement and governance processes.
  • Partner with IT Delivery and Engineering user communities to align product usage strategies, requirements planning, prioritization of needs, and consistent vendor messaging across key engineering application platforms.
  • Contribute to the evolution of WSP's Vendor Management Office, supporting the development of policies, processes, governance frameworks, vendor scorecards, spend analytics, performance reporting, and M&A integration models for engineering software vendors.

The Skills That Set You Apart
  • 5+ years of experience in IT vendor management, sourcing, or contract management with end-to-end accountability for third-party vendors.
  • Working knowledge of engineering and design software ecosystems used in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction industry, including common licensing and commercial models.
  • Strong understanding of vendor lifecycle management and governance rhythms, from intake and onboarding through renewals and continuous improvement.
  • Proven ability to perform commercial and financial analysis, including scenario modeling and consumption analysis to support negotiations and renewals.
  • Experience building data-driven vendor insights, dashboards, and executive-ready reporting (e.g., Power BI or equivalent).
  • Advanced spreadsheet and analytical skills, including Excel-based modeling and automation techniques.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across global, matrixed organizations and prepare executive-level materials.
Compensation

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $114,600 - $151,800
MB & ON: $104,500 - $143,900
NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $103,500 - $137,400
