Overview

IT Systems Applications Engineer assists with programming and support for application systems development and maintenance projects, with a commitment to stakeholder satisfaction. Engineer assists with providing technical expertise and support to analysts. Aids projects/technical initiatives through all phases of the systems development lifecycle including planning, development, implementation, issue management and operational transition for support. Facilitates maintaining and supporting Business Applications, data integrity and environments including configuration of application settings and security. Engineer assists with maintaining comprehensive system monitoring to ensure optimal system stability, while consistently meeting or exceeding Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Operational Performance Agreements (OPAs).

Responsibilities

• Assist with programming, build of programs and scripts for integrations, monitoring, data transmissions, reports, dashboards, workflows, scripts and queries to support the Business Applications as needed. Assist with investigating and implementing new technology presented by the vendor for data replication, reporting, analytics, and workflows. Gathers requirements and documents design and operational support documentation.
• Provide troubleshooting and system support by identifying issues with the application configuration, security, and data replications across multiple environments. Demonstrate critical thinking and problem solving. Answer user questions and track problems received. Troubleshoot system and data issues and failures. Resolving issues and questions. Monitor for systemic problems to proactively identify, determine root cause and resolve before they become larger.
• Complete tasks as assigned to upgrade, configure, test and maintain business applications by working closely with developers and analysts. This includes application security, programming, data copies and data replications.
• Assist with written and verbal communication with Vendors, Analysts, Functional Teams/Stakeholders, and Managers to gather requirements, report progress, issues, and project details. Respond to user requests and incidents. Assist with coordinating meetings / testing times with functional teams and outside vendors.
• Assist with build of SQL jobs and processes to extract and load data into data warehouses and data marts. Assist with maintenance of analytics cubes. Work closely with DBAs and engineers to assist with monitoring performance of databases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a technical (CS, CIS, MIS) or related degree and 3-5 years experience in application development, software engineering, application support/administration, or related experience. or
• Associate's Degree or equivalent technical training/certifications and 5-7 years experience in application development, software engineering, application support/administration, or related experience. or
• HS diploma or equivalent or equivalent technical training/certifications and 7 or more years experience in application development, software engineering, application support/administration, or related experience.

Starting Pay

Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $39.59/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.

Remote Work/Work from Home

This position is entirely remote or work-from-home. The person hired must live in the Kansas City metro area and may attend on-site meetings, as scheduled.
