Full Job Description
Join our IT team at UP42, where we support the teams building the world's leading marketplace for geospatial data and analytics. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with a top-notch, modern tech stack featuring an entirely cloud-based SaaS ecosystem. You will be the heartbeat of our day-to-day productivity, ensuring our team has the seamless, secure technology they need to drive global commercial success.

What you will do:
  • Oversee and manage our core IT infrastructure, including our Identity Provider architecture and SaaS ecosystem.
  • Manage and evolve our Mobile Device Management strategy to support a growing, global Apple-only fleet.
  • Evolve and enforce our endpoint compliance and identity security baselines to ensure strict adherence to SOC 2 and company security policies.
  • Lead strategic IT infrastructure projects from the initial whiteboard planning phases right through to successful execution and rollout.
  • Lead and mentor the continuous professional growth of our junior IT support staff while remaining deeply hands-on with the systems.
  • Establish rigorous SaaS governance and lifecycle management frameworks to mitigate shadow IT, evaluate vendor risk and prevent data exfiltration.
  • Take ownership of the IT tooling budget, drive vendor negotiations and continuously rationalise our SaaS stack for maximum efficiency.
  • Partner cross-functionally with HR, Finance and Engineering to streamline internal processes and remove friction for our teams.

Here is a good summary of what we are looking for:
  • Significant experience managing and scaling IT infrastructure within a modern, fast-paced, or global corporate environment.
  • Advanced, hands-on expertise with enterprise Identity Providers, specifically Okta, and Apple-focused Mobile Device Management, specifically Jamf Pro and Apple Business Manager.
  • Practical experience navigating compliance frameworks and successfully leading IT operations during formal audits, specifically SOC 2.
  • A strong track record of delivering strategic IT projects from planning to execution, alongside solid experience managing IT budget, SaaS governance and vendor relationships.
  • Demonstrated experience in a leadership or mentorship capacity, guiding junior IT professionals to success.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Full business fluency in English and a willingness to work on-site in Berlin.

Bonus points if you bring:
  • Hands-on experience administrating and securing our broader SaaS stack, including Google Workspace, Atlassian, Slack, 1Password, Snipe-IT and Vanta.
  • Recognised industry certifications for Okta and/or Jamf.
  • Experience with AI governance and implementing guardrails for the secure corporate use of LLMs and AI tools.
  • Fluency or professional proficiency in German.

Let us tell you why UP42 is a good choice:
  • Let's disrupt the industry: You get the chance to shape the state-of-the-art geospatial processing platform and create a completely new planetary perspective.
  • Let's stay flexible: We practice a hybrid working model - you can choose when to work from the comfort of your home or join your colleagues in our modern office in the heart of Kreuzberg, or even from a global place of your choice up to 90 days per year.
  • Let's win as a team: We're an inspiring international team working in a fun and productive environment.
  • Let's be fair: We offer a competitive salary package and other perks such as wellbeing initiatives, sponsored fitness subscriptions, educational budget for your personal development and public transportation discount - just to name a few.
  • Let's enjoy the good side of life: Gather in regular team events as well as our global company parties twice a year.
  • Let's think outside of the box: There are challenges and enough space for creativity and taking ownership.

Does this sound like a good next step into your geospatial career? If so, we look forward to receiving your application in English.
