Duties

• You will ensure the development and implementation of security requirements and security practices are incorporated throughout the system engineering lifecycle (SELC) and engineering maintenance of solutions, applications, etc.
• You will implement and configure host and network firewalls, logging, and Intrusion Prevention Systems/Intrusion Detection Systems (IPS/IDS) at the highest appropriate level of security.
• You will assess systems for shortcomings related to business requirements, functionality, or policy compliance and develops and documents steps to mitigate.
• You will acquire, manage, and allocate resources to initiate and update cyber security authorization packages.

• You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code 612, proficiency level ADVANCED the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Managing the day-to-day security posture, maintain compliance documentation, and coordinate the continuous monitoring of Risk Management Framework authorized system.

THIS IS A DIRECT HIRE ANNOUNCEMENT. Section 1109 of the National Defense Authorization Act Fiscal Year 2020 Public Law 116-92 amended Section 9905 of title 5, United States Code (U.S.C.) to streamline and simplify certain Department of Defense civilian Direct Hire Authorities to recruit and appoint qualified candidates directly to certain positions in the competitive service in the Department of Defense.

This position is in the Science & Technology Reinvention Laboratory (STRL) Human Resource Management System pay band for Department of Defense laboratories.

The pay schedule and pay band for all Administrative Specialist/Professional Positions will be NO-1/2/3/4/5/6.

This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.

Several vacancies may be filled.
