Position Description

At the Harris County Office of the Purchasing Agent, Sourcing Directors lead critical strategic sourcing efforts for specialized categories, including those supporting Harris Health's clinical and operational needs. Supporting sourcing efforts for Harris Health ensures clinicians and staff have the tools, technology, and services they need to deliver exceptional care. This role combines strategic leadership, technical expertise, and public-sector impact.
About the Role

Reporting to the Assistant Purchasing Agent, the Sourcing Director leads assigned Sourcing Managers and develops strategic sourcing plans that deliver value, efficiency, and innovation. This is a working leader's role: you'll guide your team while also engaging directly in high value sourcing initiatives. You'll be expected to bring strong category knowledge, leadership confidence, and the ability to navigate fast moving stakeholder needs.

Requirements
Education and Experience:
  • Master's degree + 8 years' experience,

OR
  • Bachelor's degree + 10 years' experience,

OR
  • 14 years of directly relevant experience.

Certification:
  • Procurement certification: NIGP-CPP, CPPO, CPSM, or equivalent required within 1 year of service.
