Role Overview:The IT Server Engineer is responsible for the design, deployment, maintenance, and optimization of the organization's server infrastructure-both on-premises and in the cloud. This role ensures system availability, performance, and security for mission-critical applications, patient management systems, and business operations across multiple dental practices.
Responsibilities - Hyper-V Administration
- Lead and support cloud migration initiatives, including planning, execution, and post-migration optimization across platforms such as Azure, AWS, or hybrid
- Virtualization Platform Management
- Design, implement, and support cloud-based infrastructure solutions, including virtual machines, storage, identity integration, backup, and disaster recovery
- Manage multiple infrastructure projects simultaneously, balancing operational support with strategic initiatives while meeting defined deadlines and service-level expectations.
- Support the development and implementation of future server technology initiatives, including infrastructure modernization, virtualization upgrades, and automation-driven improvements.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools (PowerShell, Bash, or similar) to streamline server provisioning patch management, monitoring, and routine administrative
- Identify opportunities to improve infrastructure performance, scalability, and reliability through automation and process optimization.
- Work independently to troubleshoot and resolve complex server, virtualization, storage, and operating system issues across on-premises and cloud
- Collaborate with network, security, and application teams to ensure infrastructure aligns with organizational standards, security requirements, and compliance frameworks.
- Proactively evaluate emerging technologies and make recommendations that support long-term infrastructure growth and efficiency.
- Maintain accurate documentation for server builds, configurations, change management, and disaster recovery
Requirements - Ability to work independently
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience required
- 8+ years of IT experience
- 3-5+ years of experience with Data Center infrastructure and virtualization technologies
- Expert working knowledge of virtualization technologies
- Administration experience with Microsoft OS, Citrix, VMWare, Unix, and Linux technologies
- Administration experience with Microsoft technologies such as Sharepoint, Active Directory, and Exchange
- Good documentation skills in a large scale environment
- Powershell Scripting
- Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions (e.g., Veeam, Datto, Acronis)
- Knowledge of IT security best practices and regulatory requirements (HIPAA a plus)
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and documentation skills
- Certifications preferred: MCSA, MCSE, VMware VCP, or related
- Proven customer relationship skills

Position Base Pay Range
$90,000-$100,000 USD
