Full Job Description
IT Security Analyst
RC Willey is looking for a cybersecurity professional to monitor, investigate, and respond to threats across enterprise, cloud, and Microsoft environments, with a focus on SIEM, EDR/XDR, threat hunting, vulnerability management, and incident response. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of experience, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Compensation Range: $75-95k annual salary (dependent on experience)

This role is on-site at our Salt Lake City, UT Corporate Office. Remote work and relocation support are not offered

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor, investigate, and respond to security alerts and incidents across endpoints, servers, network infrastructure, cloud platforms, and business applications.
  • Perform security event monitoring, threat hunting, and log analysis utilizing SIEM, EDR/XDR, and other security monitoring tools.
  • Administer, maintain, and tune security technologies including firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, endpoint protection, email security, vulnerability management, and security monitoring platforms.
  • Analyze and correlate security events to identify suspicious activity, indicators of compromise, operational anomalies, and emerging threats.
  • Assist with incident response activities including identification, containment, eradication, recovery, evidence collection, and post-incident analysis.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments, support remediation efforts, validate corrective actions, and assist with risk reduction initiatives.
  • Support the security of Microsoft 365, Entra ID, cloud services, and hybrid infrastructure environments.
  • Investigate phishing attempts, suspicious emails, social engineering activity, and other cyber threats to determine impact and required response actions.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve security detections, alerts, correlation rules, dashboards, and threat-hunting methodologies.
  • Research emerging threats, vulnerabilities, attack techniques, and industry trends to enhance organizational security posture.
  • Assist with security audits, compliance initiatives, penetration test remediation, policy reviews, and security documentation.
  • Collaborate with System Administrators, Network Administrators, and Help Desk teams to ensure secure configuration and operation of enterprise systems.
  • Assist with maintaining and testing Incident Response, Disaster Recovery, and Business Continuity procedures.
  • All other duties as assigned


Skills and Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in cybersecurity, information security, security operations, system administration, network administration, or a related technical field.
  • Experience working with SIEM, EDR/XDR, vulnerability management, endpoint security, firewall, or security monitoring solutions.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and best practices such as NIST Cybersecurity Framework, CIS Controls, PCI DSS, or similar standards.
  • Knowledge of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, routing, switching, wireless networking, and firewall technologies.
  • Familiarity with Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and cloud security concepts.
  • Experience investigating security alerts, log data, phishing incidents, malware activity, or other security-related events.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.
  • Basic scripting or automation experience (PowerShell, Python, or similar) is a plus.
