IT Operations Manager

This is a full-time, five-day-per-week position at our downtown Toronto office. Remote and hybrid arrangements are not available for this role.
The opportunity
We are looking for a hands-on IT Operations Manager to ownand lead our internal IT function. Initially, you will operate as a departmentof one, supported by our Full Stack Developer, company leadership, and externalspecialists. You will be equally comfortable resolving technical issues,administering critical systems, advising leadership, and building the processesand roadmap required for growth.
This role requires initiative and sound business judgment.You will independently assess competing demands, identify risks andopportunities, recommend a course of action, and carry work through toresolution and documentation. Leadership initially means ownership,communication, influence, and coordination; as the company grows, you may helpshape and lead an expanded IT function.
You are not expected to be the deepest expert in everyplatform. You are expected to know what you can solve directly, when toinvestigate, and when to engage the right specialist-while remainingaccountable for the outcome.
What you will own
• Set day-to-day priorities acrosssupport, security, infrastructure, projects, and continuous improvement basedon business impact and risk.
• Administer Microsoft 365, EntraID, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, user access, multifactorauthentication, privileged accounts, and security policies.
• Oversee employee onboarding andoffboarding, device deployment, permissions, endpoint management, patching,antivirus, backups, and access reviews.
• Support and administer NetSuiteERP and connected SuiteApps, HubSpot, Dialpad, customer-support platforms,field-service applications, and other SaaS systems.
• Provide responsive internalhelp-desk support and eliminate recurring issues through root-cause analysisand lasting solutions.
• Manage computers, mobile devices,office networking, internet, Wi-Fi, printers, server-room equipment,meeting-room technology, and office access-control systems.
• Manage hardware procurement andlifecycle, IT assets, software licences, subscriptions, renewals, vendors, andtechnology spending.
• Maintain reliable integrations anddata flows, and work with our Full Stack Developer on automation, testing,troubleshooting, and system improvements.
• Develop practical IT policies,documentation, service standards, incident-response procedures, recovery plans,and a roadmap aligned with company growth.
• Evaluate and recommend solutionsto leadership with clear explanations of business value, cost, risk, urgency,and implementation requirements.
What we are looking for
Required
• Five or more years of progressiveexperience in IT operations, systems administration, infrastructure, or arelated field, including meaningful ownership of an IT environment.
• Strong Microsoft 365 and Entra IDadministration experience, with a solid understanding of identity, endpointsecurity, networking, backups, and access management.
• Experience administering cloudbusiness systems, integrations, employee technology, software licensing, and ITassets.
• Strong hands-on troubleshootingand root-cause analysis skills across software, hardware, accounts,connectivity, and business applications.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritizecompeting support requests, security risks, infrastructure needs, andimprovement projects independently.
• Experience building structure inan evolving environment through documentation, policies, service standards,project plans, or technology roadmaps.
• Clear written and verbalcommunication, including the confidence to make recommendations to seniorleadership and challenge assumptions constructively.
• Sound judgment, personalaccountability, curiosity, and consistent follow-through, with the ability towork in our downtown Toronto office five days per week.
Preferred
• Previous experience as an ITOperations Manager, IT Lead, Senior Systems Administrator, or sole IT owner.
• Experience with NetSuite, HubSpot,Dialpad, SharePoint, Azure, endpoint-management platforms, or comparable systems.
• Experience supporting amulti-location operational business and coordinating specialist vendors.
• Experience with PowerShell,JavaScript, Python, SuiteScript, APIs, workflow automation, AI productivitytools, or integration platforms.
• Relevant education orcertifications in Microsoft technologies, networking, security, IT, or projectmanagement.

• Accurate documentation of systems,administrators, vendors, licences, assets, configurations, and recoveryprocedures.
• A practical technology roadmap andmeasurable reductions in recurring problems and manual work.
Compensation and benefits
Expected base salary: $85,000 CAD annually
Final compensation will reflect the successful candidate's experience, qualifications, and demonstrated capability. The position also includes competitive benefits.
