Job Overview

We are seeking a highly proactive, analytical, and hands-on IT Manager to oversee the company's daily technology operations and system alignment from our office in Orange. This is not a traditional "behind the desk" corporate role. We are looking for an incredibly responsive, technically proficient, and strategic professional who can seamlessly move between mid-term planning and real-world, hands-on problem solving.

In this role, you will manage the daily development and workflows of an established internal IT team to deliver outstanding, customer-focused technology support for our multiple offices and remote construction jobsites. You will align our technology infrastructure directly with our day-to-day construction workflows and continuously identify areas to better support our current and future operations. This includes strategically optimizing and deploying resources to seamlessly match diverse needs outside our offices' standard business hours, across multiple time zones.

Additionally, you will stay abreast of emerging tech developments to report out to executive leadership, proposing and overseeing the implementation of new technology solutions that benefit the organization. In this role, you will drive innovation by identifying continuous system advancements while maintaining the scalable infrastructure needed to support our future expansion.

Key Responsibilities

• Operational Management: Oversee the daily maintenance of our overall IT infrastructure, cybersecurity systems, and department budget in alignment with annual goals.
• Team Leadership & Development: Direct, mentor, and guide a four-person internal IT team with specialized and differentiated responsibilities, actively stepping in to personally investigate and work through difficult technical issues alongside team members when circumstances require.
• Field Connectivity: Partner directly with operational personnel to design and deploy reliable network infrastructure, MDM, and mobile device tools for remote jobsites, while proactively recommending improvements for connectivity, access, and performance.
• Vendor, Asset, & Budget Management: Handle technology purchasing, initial contract reviews, contract negotiations, software licensing, and management of outside consultants or carriers to ensure maximum value, benefit, and asset productivity for the company.
• Cybersecurity Execution & Compliance: Proactively research evolving threat landscapes to recommend, implement, and audit advanced security frameworks, business continuity plans, and disaster recovery initiatives that fiercely protect the company's data and financial interests.
• Standards & System Documentation: Establish, implement, and maintain appropriate IT standards, thorough system documentation, and disaster recovery capabilities to ensure operational stability and reliable data management.
• Process Innovation: Monitor technology forums and emerging trends to conduct cost-benefit analyses, provide forward-thinking recommendations to executive leadership, and take full ownership of implementation timelines and department deliverables.

Requirements

Required Education and Experience

• Education: High school diploma or a GED.
• Professional Timeline: A minimum of 6 years of progressive IT experience, with at least 2 years spent mentoring, supervising, leading, coaching, and/or developing personnel.
• Multi-Site Operations Experience: Proven history supporting a geographically distributed, multi-state organization with multiple offices, remote employees, and field personnel with diverse technical needs.
• Core Systems Knowledge: Proven expertise managing enterprise infrastructure, including firewalls, WAN/SD-WAN, cloud-hosted systems (Microsoft Cloud), server infrastructure, corporate telephony/voice networks, and enterprise business continuity and disaster recovery (BC/DR) protocols.
• Strategic & Financial Evaluation: Demonstrated expertise conducting rigorous cost-benefit analyses, evaluating technology vendors, and performing strategic system reviews to maximize organizational value, asset benefits, and productivity.
• Communication: Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to confidently present technical operational risks, budgets, and recommendations to non-technical business leaders.

Preferred Education and Experience

• Academic Background: Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, business administration, or a related field of study.
• Technical Proficiencies: Demonstrated software development abilities and hands-on system architecture insights.
• Project & Governance Credentials: Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT), or equivalent industry certifications.
• Systems Administration Standards: Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert, Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate, or equivalent legacy credentials (MCSA/MCSE).
• AEC Industry Experience: Prior experience managing, leading, or consulting on IT infrastructure or managing technology operations within the commercial construction, engineering, or architecture industries.

$150,000 - $200,000
