Position Summary:

The IT Manager is a hands-on, self-driven professional responsible for overseeing and executing all aspects of IT infrastructure, systems, and support for Rockford Systems. This role does not have direct reports but serves as the primary contact for all internal IT needs, ensuring the reliability, security, and efficiency of company technology. The IT Manager partners closely with various departments to support onboarding, equipment procurement, server monitoring, and mobile device management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all internal IT issues, providing day-to-day support for hardware, software, and network troubleshooting.
  • Manage the procurement, configuration, and deployment of IT equipment for new hires, including computers, monitors, accessories, and necessary software installations.
  • Administer and support company email systems, shared drives, VPN access, and user accounts (e.g., Microsoft 365, Active Directory, etc.).
  • Monitor and maintain the health and security of servers, networks, firewalls, and backup systems, ensuring uptime and data integrity.
  • Manage company mobile devices and carrier accounts, including setup, replacement, and usage monitoring.
  • Perform regular audits of IT systems to ensure compliance with company policies and cybersecurity standards.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation of IT procedures, asset inventory, software licenses, and vendor support contacts.
  • Act as the liaison for external IT service providers and vendors, coordinating support, maintenance, or project assistance as needed.
  • Evaluate and implement new technology solutions that support the business and improve operational efficiency.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of IT policies, disaster recovery plans, and security protocols.
  • Provide basic training and support to staff on common IT tools and systems.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred. Equivalent work experience considered.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in an IT generalist or manager-level role supporting a small to mid-sized business environment.
  • Strong knowledge of network administration, cybersecurity principles, Windows OS, Microsoft 365, and hardware troubleshooting.
  • Experience managing mobile devices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with a service-oriented mindset.

Working Conditions:
  • On-site role at Rockford Systems headquarters, with occasional remote support as needed.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds for hardware transport or setup.
